Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s sizzling romance has social media buzzing, with fans swooning over the unlikely pair — though some trolls are already raining on the parade.
The Baywatch legend, 58, and the Taken star, 73, got tongues wagging after sharing a surprisingly affectionate display on the red carpets while promoting their new film The Naked Gun, which hit theaters on August 1.
Around that time, a source told DailyMail.com that the movie star duo have been dating ‘for a while.’
The Playboy icon herself couldn’t hide her admiration for the Irish heartthrob, gushing, ‘you can’t help but fall in love with him.’
And almost a year earlier, Neeson praised his co-star during The Naked Gun production, admitting, ‘I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you.’
But now the romance has been rocked by a wild claim, with critics questioning whether the high-profile fling was nothing more than a stunt.

DailyMail.com has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for both Anderson and Neeson.
The online frenzy kicked off when a follower shared a screenshot of the report with the caption, ‘It was a PR stunt??’, prompting fans to weigh in on the drama.
One humorously chimed in, ‘I didn’t say that I suspected this aloud…but I still feel vindicated like a regular know-it-all.’
Another argued, ‘This is depressing but not unexpected. They would’ve made such a cute couple.’
One commenter added, ‘I feel like everyone just assumed more than anything.’
Most, however, were staunch defenders of the couple.
One posted, ‘If you didn’t believe it you don’t believe in love, unlike me who believes in love.’
Another wrote, ‘I’m sure they are friends and they went out to dinner together many times during the press tour. Some relationships are like that.’

But after a report surfaced claiming the romance had fizzled, some critics are now questioning whether the high-profile fling was simply a promotional stunt for the film

And another chimed in, ‘they looked cute while doing it at least’, while one joked, ‘idk how I’m gonna break the news to my mum.’
The May/December lovebirds first sparked all the chatter after being spotted kissing on the red carpet while promoting the high-profile comedy in New York City and London.
‘Pam is very drawn to Liam because he is totally open to her way of thinking and living, and especially her approach to fame, which is impressive,’ a source told Daily Mail at the time.
‘She has been telling friends he is smitten and does a lot of sweet things for her, like sending her flowers, and spending time with her sons and dogs.’
The insider noted that they’ve managed to keep the long-distance romance private by spending time at her house in Canada.
‘Pam cooks and gardens at home… it’s wholesome and appealing and very un-Hollywood, and Liam loves that,’ said the insider.
‘He actually gets involved.’
Eyebrows were raised back in October 2024 when Neeson openly admitted his feelings for the former Playboy model.

Most followers, however, were staunch defenders of the couple
He told People, ‘With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you.
‘No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with.’
And Anderson gushed about Neeson in return, calling him ‘the perfect gentleman’ who ‘brings out the best in you … with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.’
She also told EW, ‘We definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving. He’s a good guy.’
The romance rumors have only been fueled by Neeson joking that his favorite part of The Naked Gun was filming the love scenes with Pamela.
In the comedy reboot, he stars as Frank Drebin Jr., opposite Pamela as nightclub singer Beth, with their scenes carefully choreographed with the help of an intimacy coordinator.
The film — a fresh take on Leslie Nielsen’s 1988 classic — follows Detective Frank Drebin Jr. tackling his first big case, solving a high-profile murder, and trying to save the police department from closure.
Following in his father’s hilariously clumsy footsteps, Drebin stumbles through outrageous situations while attempting to crack the case.
Neeson told Empire that he didn’t want to emulate Nielsen in the reboot.
‘I wouldn’t say nerve-wracking, but every day I would go up to Akiva [Schaffer] after we wrapped and say, “How was it?” Because I just didn’t know. I did not want to emulate the wonderful Leslie Nielsen, but the only thing I grabbed from him, was, “Be serious. Don’t try to be funny. Just stick to being a serious cop who is a bit of a doofus.”’
