Paris Jackson and her fiancé Justin Long have split and ended their engagement.
The breakup comes just over a week after the 27-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson was spotted crying in public.
Jackson confirmed the two had broken off their engagement on Thursday in a post on X, in which she said the concerning tears seen on July 23 were ‘breakup tears.’
The Daily Mail has contacted Jackson’s representatives for comment but hasn’t yet received a response.
Jackson was jubilant when she announced her engagement to Long in December 6 of last year.
‘Doing like with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind,’ the songstress captioned a photo of herself and Long staring into each other’s eyes lovingly at the time. ‘I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.’

However, as of Thursday the post had been deleted from Jackson’s Instagram account.
Jackson appeared to have been wearing her engagement ring as recently as June, when she was pictured with it on at the Tribeca Festival.
She walked the red carpet at the event with Long by her side.
Jackson also didn’t betray that anything was amiss with her relationship days later, when she said she was focused on wedding planning during an interview with Access Hollywood.
‘The dress is being made, the venue has been picked and the date has been picked by an astrologer, because I’m from LA,’ she said in an interview clip posted to YouTube. ‘I’m all about the crystals and the astrologer, and all that stuff.’
But the singer–songwriter sparked concerns from fans later in June, when she was pictured tearing up as her fiancé comforted her on the side of a road in Malibu.
The tense display was just a week before the anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, at age 50 from acute Propofol intoxication, which caused the singer to go into cardiac arrest.

‘I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you,’ she continued. Jackson and Long locked lips in one of her announcement photos

On June 13, Jackson hit back at critical fans via now-expired Instagram Stories posts after she was blasted for scheduling a performance on the day of her father’s death anniversary.
‘So people are mad again. I guess one of the dates I’m supposed to be going out on tour (with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra) happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family,’ she said.
She continued in the video post, ‘So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that when you’re not headlining these shows, you don’t pick what date you perform.’
Jackson also indicated that her engagement was still on at the time as she emphasized that she was not getting lavish accommodations as an opening act.
‘It’s just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé,’ she said, referencing Long. ‘So we’re gonna be in a soccer mom van.’
Paris noted that she volunteered to be part of the tour and wouldn’t step down over the date.
‘So, I’m gonna tell ’em, “Sorry, guys, we can’t perform on this date?”‘ she posited, facetiously, adding, ‘F*** you.’
The songstress also reposted, via Instagram Stories, what appeared to be a comment or caption from a fan account.
It read in part, ‘Note to admins: It is unacceptable to judge someone else’s pain and grief based on information from the internet.
‘Judging Paris’ respect for her father from an outside perspective is unfair. June 25 may intensify our pain as fans, but she lives with the loss of her father daily.’
