Pete Davidson is making a comeback on Netflix, but he’s trading the stage for a new venture. The well-known Saturday Night Live performer will soon headline his own video podcast on the platform.
Netflix has revealed that Davidson will be at the helm of a fresh podcast series titled The Pete Davidson Show, available exclusively to its subscribers. Reminiscent of Marc Maron’s famed garage setup for his WTF with Marc Maron Podcast, Davidson plans to record his podcast from his own garage, remarking that it’s “where all the best conversations happen.”
In a statement, Davidson expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Netflix hosted one of my earliest stand-up specials, so it felt natural to bring the podcast there. It’s just me and my friends chatting about anything that comes to mind. It’s going to be a blast.”
The streaming giant hinted that the podcast might even take to the road in the future.
Behind the scenes, Marc Lieberman and Saturday Night Live producer Ayala Cohen will produce the show, with Sarah Brennan Kolb directing.
This marks Davidson’s latest project for the streamer. His previous comedy specials Pete Davidson: Turbo Fonzarelli (2024) and Pete Davidson: Alive from New York (2020 both premiered on Netflix, and he also hosted Pete Davidson Presents: The Best Friends.
Davidson’s new video podcast marks the latest title to join Netflix’s growing podcast slate.
While the streamer has nabbed streaming rights for popular series such as My Favorite Murder and The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Pete Davidson Show highlights the streamer’s willingness to also develop original podcast content.
Netflix also recently announced The White House, an original sports video podcast hosted by Michael Irvin as well as an official companion podcast for Bridgerton, hosted by Alison Hammond.
Netflix already offers a star-studded slate of podcasts, including Chelsea Handler’s podcast Dear Chelsea, The Dave Chang Show, and This Is Important featuring Workaholics actors Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson.
The Pete Davidson Show premiere Friday, Jan. 30 at 3:01 a.m. EST with new episodes dropping every Friday.
It remains to be soon who will appear on The Pete Davidson Show.
