Iconic singer Cher is reportedly planning to marry her boyfriend, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, before she celebrates her 80th birthday in May.

The 79-year-old music legend is said to be preparing for a wedding with 39-year-old Edwards after enjoying a three-year relationship.

Despite the significant 40-year age difference, the “Burlesque” star, who has previously been married twice, reportedly feels ready to make a lifelong commitment without concern.

An insider shared with The Mirror that Cher is determined to walk down the aisle with Alexander in conjunction with her milestone birthday in May.

The source added that Cher views her upcoming 80th birthday celebration as the ideal occasion to formalize her relationship with Edwards.

The If I Could Turn Back Time singer recently gushed about how much she is in love with Alexander to Gayle King on US daytime TV chat show, CBS Mornings.

She said: ‘You know, you get older but your spirit is younger. I just love him. I think he’s beautiful and he’s really talented.’

Asked about attacks online about their 40-year age difference, she said: ‘They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us. We just have a blast.’

Cher also shared that she enjoys spending time with Alexander’s six-year-old son Slash, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.

The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker described the youngster as ‘smart, funny’ and ‘a delight.’

‘I used to say, “God, give me a toddler and a man,”‘ she revealed to Gayle before saying she got ‘exactly’ what she asked for.

Over the past three years the two have regularly enjoyed glamorous outings, as they both love fashion and socializing.

Cher was previously married to Sonny Bonno from 1964 to 1975 and they welcomed son Chaz Bono. She later went on to tie the knot with Gregg Allman but divorced shortly after

Alexander lives with Cher at her 13,000-square-foot Italian Renaissance-style mansion in Malibu.

In her memoir, Cher details what her marriage to the late Sonny Bono was like, alleging that he ‘manhandled’ her at times and at one point ‘seriously thought about’ killing her.

She wrote that she felt trapped in the marriage from 1969 to 1975, which produced their son Chaz Bono.

The exes shot to fame in the ’60s by performing as pop duo Sonny & Cher, and they went on to star in an eponymous variety show in the 1970s.

Cher married Gregg Allman on June 30, 1975, four days after her divorce from Sonny was finalized. She filed paperwork to end her first marriage in February 1974.

She and her second husband — the co-founder The Allman Brothers Band who died in 2017 at 69 — welcomed son Elijah Blue in 1976.

Elijah has struggled with addiction throughout his life, and over the summer the 49-year-old musician was discharged from the hospital following a drug overdose.
