As a result, interest rates were super low, and housing prices were a steal. But anyone who tried to purchase after 2021 knows that the cheap housing situation was short-lived — many properties purchased before that have increased substantially in value.

Harry and Meghan’s is no exception. The Sussexes initially paid a staggering $14.65 million for their Montecito mansion, which feels like an unbelievable number. But according to real estate estimates, that home is now worth more than $27 million. Zillow suggests the “Zestimate” (Zillow’s estimated value of a certain property) sits somewhere between $20.4 million ad $36.7 million, averaging out to a little more than $27 million. That’s nearly double what Harry and Meghan paid for it less than five years ago.

The home is the pinnacle of luxury. It features nine bedrooms; it reportedly has 16 bathrooms, though real estate websites have mixed number ranging from 13 to 19 bathrooms (the bottom line is there are way more toilets than people living there). It’s a Tuscan-style mansion with a pool, massive yard, and gorgeous vista views.
