It’s a rivalry renewed as the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox collide in a best-of-three Wild Card Series!
There’s no shortage of documentaries that cover the historic rivalry between the Yanks and the Sox. Netflix has The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox, Prime Video has Game 7: Yankees vs. Red Sox 2003, and ESPN just debuted a new docuseries titled Believers: Boston Red Sox. Perhaps another chapter will be added to the longstanding feud when these two teams collide in the 2025 playoffs.
Game 1 features a battle of aces as Garrett Crochet (18-5, 2.59 ERA) and Max Fried (19-5, 2.86 ERA) square off, while Brayan Bello and Carlos Rodon are scheduled to start Game 2. The Yanks have won the last six games Fried has started, and the Sox have been victorious in Crochet’s last seven starts. Which team will take a 1-0 lead? We’re going with the Yanks in a low-scoring ball game.
