Whitney Way Thore isn’t worried about her immortal soul. But some of her followers are.

On Monday, the TLC star took to Instagram to share some of the eyebrow-raising comments she received after posting about attending a concert by the metal-influenced band Sleep Token over the weekend.

Many people were thrilled to see Whitney having a good time at one of the cult-favorite group’s shows. But others were seriously alarmed. They expressed concern that the reality TV personality had been ensnared by Satan. 

“That’s satanic. Unfollow,” one person wrote. 

“Your mom is rolling in her grave smh you need Jesus,” another person wrote. 

“What are you changing into a dark Whitney?” one person asked. “Is this what babs would have wanted?”

A few even combined their criticism with remarks about Whitney’s body.  

“You should seek forgiveness from Jesus for your saggy tits and your evil ways,” read one message the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star received. 

One particularly nasty commenter told Whitney that her behavior was “exactly why God is not blessing you with a good husband and children.” On the most recent season of MBFFL, Whitney opened up about undergoing artificial insemination in an effort to have a baby on her own.

In the caption of her Instagram post, Whitney hit back at people who called her behavior sinful or Satanic. 

“So, um…since y’all didn’t get raptured today and we are unfortunately stuck on this earthly plane together for a bit longer…can y’all just…not? Like aren’t you so embarrassed to be out here claiming to do the Lord’s work but then it’s…this?” she wrote. 

Whitney went on to say that she was not Christian. However, she had read the Bible and studied religion in college. 

“I’m just gonna lightly gently suggest that maybe you’re doing it wrong,” she wrote.  

She had special words for those who’d dragged her late mother Barbara “Babs” Thore into the discussion. 

“My mother was agnostic and I got my love of all things ‘dark’ from her,” shared Whitney, who was considering a move to Salem, Massachusetts, on the latest season of MBFFL. 

“She never stepped foot inside a church since the day I was born if not for a wedding or a funeral. She made me watch The Exorcist when I was 8; she introduced me to the Ouija board; she used to bring voodoo dolls dressed in the opposing team’s uniforms to my soccer games and she was so proud of every single thing about me until the day she died in my arms,” Whitney continued. “I genuinely hope everyone has the opportunity to love and be loved like that.”

As for comments about her body, Whitney suggested people keep their opinions to themselves. 

“Also, I like my tits,” she wrote. “So if y’all could aim your religious psychosis in another direction that would be GREAT.”
