Though RHONY-alum Sonja Morgan is no longer on Bravo every week, she is still causing drama in New York City. The reality star recently made headlines for refusing to pay the bill at a restaurant. Fans who watched Morgan for multiple seasons on The Real Housewives of New York aren’t surprised by her reported behavior, but many have expressed their disgust.

Former ‘RHONY’ star Sonja Morgan squabbled over the bill at a recent dinner

On Saturday, May 10, Morgan went to dinner at the Italian restaurant Tucci ahead of her cousin Jack Morgan’s 30th birthday party. She started off on rocky footing with restaurant staff when she arrived with a party of five instead of the three listed on her reservation. Things took a turn for the worse when her server presented her with the nearly $1,000 bill.

“She was like, ‘I don’t pay; people pay me [to go to their restaurants],’” a source told Page Six. “She was absolutely entitled and caused a scene about not paying.”

Morgan has reportedly received comped meals from the restaurant in the past and assumed her dinner would be free.

“She was absolutely hysterical and refused to pay,” a source said. “It was like she was filming a Housewives episode, shouting, ‘I’m a celebrity!’”

She called restaurant owner Max Tucci to demand a free dinner, explaining that she is a single mother. Tucci informed her that she would still have to pay for the meal.

“It’s not about me. Don’t do that to my staff,” he said. “The cost of everything is so expensive right now [for restaurants], and she’s just taking advantage. … There was no arrangement for her to have a comped dinner. She just wanted free food and service.”

Morgan called the situation a “clear miscommunication” and said she believed she would receive a free meal in exchange for a promotional post. She reportedly paid the bill and tip on Monday. Still, Tucci has blacklisted her from the restaurant.

‘RHONY’ fans are fed up with Sonja Morgan’s behavior

Fans of the show are utterly unimpressed with Morgan’s behavior, though they don’t find it surprising.

“Booking a table for a small party and bringing a big one, while also assuming it would be free, all before going to a 30th birthday party is definitely our Sonjarita,” wrote one Reddit user.

Others found it disappointing that Morgan reportedly tried to get a free meal by describing herself as a single mother. Morgan had a 24-year-old daughter with former husband John Adams Morgan, the great-grandson of J.P. Morgan.

“This is a terrible look and beyond entitled,” another person commented. “What a gross thing to do, and then to play the ‘single mother’ card as if her child isn’t an adult heiress. How many single mothers have a $1000 dinner on a Saturday night? Yikes.”

Others found it embarrassing that no one at the table moved to pay the bill throughout Morgan’s outburst.

“I know, so tacky and I’m sure out of five people they could afford it,” they wrote. “No way I would just sit there and watch her throw a fit.”

Even her fans have expressed their distaste.

“Regardless of her being a funny character on the show, her antics are getting old. So it’s only we mortals who have to pay for s***, a millionaire self proclaimed celeb should consume free of charge, right? It’s entitlement at it’s finest. Sorry Sonja, you were fantastic on the show, but you’re not that big of celeb to demand everything free of charge.”

She recently finished a tour

While Morgan is no longer on reality TV, she is still getting in front of audiences. She recently finished up the Sonja In Your City Tour.
