Rob Kardashian makes first on-camera appearance in nearly a decade in 'The Kardashians' Season 7 premiere

After a lengthy hiatus, Rob Kardashian has made his much-anticipated return to reality television.

Rob, the sole son of Kris Jenner, retreated from the public eye in 2016 after years of featuring in the family’s popular E! show, Keeping Up with The Kardashians. He also appeared in the spinoff Khloé & Lamar alongside Khloé Kardashian and her former husband Lamar Odom, as well as in his own miniseries, Rob & Chyna, with Blac Chyna. Although Rob has participated in their Hulu revival, The Kardashians, via phone calls, his face has remained off-screen—until now.

The Season 7 opener of The Kardashians sees Kris hosting the entire family at her famed Hidden Hills residence for a final gathering before its sale.

“All my kids are here tonight,” Kris shares with the audience. “My kids, my children, my grandchildren, and even Rob, which means the world to me.”

While Rob doesn’t have a microphone or share his thoughts in confessionals, he is shown engaging in conversation with his mother from the couch and enjoying time with his sisters, daughter, nieces, and nephews.

“Yes, guys. Rob is here,” Khloé says in her confessional. “I know everyone is hoping that Rob comes back to the show, and trust me, we are too.”

“Rob is doing well. He’s alive,” Khloé continues. “The conspiracies are running wild. One of the main ones is that he lives with me, he’s in our shadows and we don’t want to have him around us. He’s not some miserable person that lives under a bridge. He’s not a Gruffalo. We’re totally fine.”

Khloé isn’t the only member of the family who wants to film with her brother again.

Kourtney Kardashian says, “Rob and I, we’re very similar in a lot of ways. He’s super sweet. [He’s] the funniest person I know. I love having him around,” while Kim Kardashian adds, “I do miss him being on the show because he’s just so funny. It would be great if he would regularly be back on. That’s the goal.”

It sounds like that goal may very well happen in the future. In a flashback scene, Rob is heard telling Khloé and Scott Disick that he’s “down” to return to the show. Fingers crossed!

New episodes of The Kardashians air every Thursday on Hulu.
