Ross King made a rare comment about his love life as he praised his ‘beautiful’ girlfriend Bridget on a podcast last week – after his glamorous partner shocked Strictly viewers on Saturday night.

The showbiz correspondent, 63, made his BBC dance debut on the show performing the cha-cha-cha with professional partner Jowita to Katy Perry’s California Gurls.

After the performance, he gave a heartfelt shoutout to his girlfriend for flying over to watch him in the audience.

The cameras then caught a glimpse of Bridget looking stunning in a strapless black dress next to his sister Elaine – sending fans wild as they didn’t know he had a partner.

And speaking just last week on an episode of the How To Be 60 podcast with Kaye Adams he gushed over Bridget as he opened up about living in LA and his plans to stay there.

He said: ‘I love LA. Who knows what happens in the future but it would take a lot to take me away from LA. I love the place. I’ve got a great life there. I’ve got a beautiful, lovely girlfriend Bridget. We have a great time there. So it’s very much home.’

Ross was previously married actress Charley, born Helen Charlotte Way, in 1999, but they went their separate ways in 2006. They never had children.

Ross later married Brianna Deutsch in 2015 before the pair quietly split in 2022.

The podcast interviewer then asked if he would ever get married again to which he responded: ‘Never say never again. How about that? I’m such a great believer in love. It’s certainly not one of those things, having been married twice before…

‘Either I’m really bad at it or I could be really good at it in the future, I don’t know. It depends which way you look at it: The glass is half full or the glass is half empty. But no, no, no, I’m a great believer in love.

‘I feel very fortunate with Bridget that I’ve found someone who is just absolutely brilliant in every way, so I’m very very fortunate.’

He was then asked how long they’d been together as he confirmed: ‘Nearly three years. So yeah. So we’re very very lucky.’

While he didn’t top the leaderboard on Saturday night’s Strictly, Ross earned a total of 10 points out of 40.

After the performance, he gave a heartfelt shoutout to his girlfriend for flying over to watch him in the audience.

He said: ‘It’s so lovely that my girlfriend Bridget flew over 5,000 miles to come watch.

Ross, who is originally from Scotland, now lives in Los Angeles.

He first left the UK in favour of LA in 2000 when he became the showbiz correspondent for GMTV, a role which he stayed in until 2010.

He went on to secure a number of presenting jobs including one role as a weather man for local station KTLA, which he bagged after beating 5,000 other entrants in a competition launched by the channel.

The TV personality went on to star in a number of films, his first being The Day After Tomorrow, before going on to feature in Half Past Dead, Cruel Game, Do It For Uncle Manny, Trust Me, Young Hercules and Who’s Your Caddy.

Aside from his career, Ross married actress Charley, born Helen Charlotte Way, in 1999, but they went their separate ways in 2006. They never had children.

She is known for her roles in Chicago, The Producers, and Controlled Chaos, performing on both the West End and on Broadway.

Ross later married Brianna Deutsch in 2015, with showbiz friends such as Gerard Butler, Patsy Palmer, Jackie Collins, and Gary Barlow attending the ceremony.

Take That star Gary was also enlisted to perform at their glitzy nuptials.

The pair quietly split in 2022 after seven years of marriage, however they are said to have remained friends.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘The pair have remained amicable and still run in the same circles, they just realised they weren’t on the same page romantically any more.

‘Ross loves living in Hollywood and has been throwing himself into work and writing novels.’

The Daily Mail contacted a representative for Ross at the time.

Ross previously spoke out about his relationship with Brianna, who is 22 years his junior, telling the Daily Record: ‘She’s beautiful and I know I’m punching well, well above my weight.

During his time in the US, Ross has married twice, he wed actress Charley in 1999 before moving on with Brianna Deutsch in 2015, however they have now split (pictured with Brianna in 2014)

‘The age difference has never been an issue. I want to have kids too. I’m not worried about being an older dad. I’m a big family man.

‘I still get homesick for my mum and sister in Scotland and come back as often as possible. But I get up every day and from my house in the hills I look out across the Hollywood sign.

‘It always makes me smile. I’m a kid from Knightswood in Glasgow. It still feels like a fairy tale.’

In 2023, Ross reunited with his first wife Charley at the Bafta Annual Burns Bash, held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in LA.

The ITV Hollywood correspondent put on a jovial display with the actress, with the former couple posing together for a photo at the event.
