Chrisley for Congress? Reality TV personality Savannah Chrisley is hinting that she might seek political office following Todd and Julie Chrisley’s presidential pardon.

Savannah and her parents recently sat down for an interview for the ABC News special Impact x Nightlight: The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup, which is now streaming on Hulu. During the conversation with Juju Chang, the 27-year-old commented on her possible political aspirations.

Former ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star wants to ‘speak to younger voters’

After her parents were sentenced to prison in 2022 for a $36 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme, Savannah dedicated herself to getting them released. She spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention and lobbied behind the scenes. Eventually, her efforts were successful. Donald Trump pardoned the Chrisleys in late May.

Now that she’s had a taste of politics, Savannah says she’s considering making that her career.

“There’s been some talk of a congressional run,” Savannah told Chang. “I don’t know if that will or will not be the thing that I do or if it’s what I’m called to do, but also I believe right now my goal is to speak to younger voters.”

The podcaster says she learned a lot as she advocated for Todd and Julie.

“I worked for two-and-a-half years, I did not have a single political connection, I went to D.C., I forced myself into rooms I was never invited into, I educated myself,” she said.

In a separate interview with the president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, Savannah also spoke about connecting with younger voters.

“For me, I realize how important it is to have younger voices in the political world because I truly do believe if we don’t get younger individuals in, then the Republican Party could die,” she said during her appearance on Fox News’ My View With Lara Trump. “So my goal is to encourage individuals that are my age and younger to get out, vote. Your voice matters.”

Savannah Chrisley calls herself ‘MAGA Barbie’

Savannah didn’t commit to seeking office in her latest interviews. But there are plenty of other signs that she’s seriously considering a future in politics. The top pinned posts on Savannah’s Instagram all highlight her newly political bent and emphasize her relationship with the current president.

One recent photo she shared on social media shows her posing in an all-pink golf dress and a pink “Make America Great Again” hat.

“MAGA BARBIE IS WHAT THEY CALL ME,” she captioned the post, which attracted largely negative comments.

In another update, she spoke about a meeting with Department of Justice pardon attorney Ed Martin, and William Marshall, the director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, to discuss criminal justice issues.

“To D.C. and the world of politics…thank you for welcoming me with open arms. I’m not here for show,” she wrote. “I’m here to fight for the people our government forgot.”

Those efforts include improve employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals, she told Lara Trump.

“I reached out to the Chipotle CEO who’s opening 3,600 more stores. I’m like, let’s hire men and women who are getting out of prison,” she said.

With her reality TV roots, Savannah would fit right in with a number of other right-wing political figures. In addition to the president, himself a former reality TV star, there is Real World alum Sean Duffy, now Secretary of Transportation, The Apprentice producer Mark Burnett, now the special envoy to the United Kingdom, and former daytime TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz, who was named the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Trump has also appointed former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Siggy Flicker to the board of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
