Nigerian-American commentator Wendy Osefo has reportedly been dismissed from her role as a professor at Wesleyan University. This development comes amid serious legal troubles involving both her and her husband, Eddie Osefo. On October 9, 2025, the couple was arrested on multiple fraud charges.

The charges they face are extensive, comprising 34 counts of felony and misdemeanor offenses. Among these are allegations of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and providing false statements to law enforcement officials.

The accusations stem from an incident in April 2024, where the couple allegedly fabricated a burglary at their home. They are said to have claimed that designer items and jewelry, valued at approximately $500,000, were stolen during this purported break-in.
