The Russo family is back and this time, the stakes are higher than ever. Disney just released the official trailer for Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the continuation of the Emmy Award-winning Wizards of Waverly Place. The sneak peek promises laughs, heart, and a dose of danger, while giving fans a glimpse at some big-name guest stars.

At the center of Season 2 is Billie, played by Janice LeAnn Brown, who is still figuring out what it really means to be part of the Russo family. Her world turns upside down when Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko) suddenly gain magical powers of their own. That leaves Justin Russo (David Henrie) responsible for training not one, not two, but three young wizards as they prepare for the Family Wizard Competition.

As if family rivalries weren’t enough, a mysterious new threat looms, one that could unravel everything the Russos have built together.

The magic kicks off with a two-episode premiere on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel and Disney Channel On Demand. For those who prefer to stream, all episodes will be available on Disney+ starting Oct. 8 in the U.S. and select international markets.

Alongside Henrie, Brown, Thiele, and Matenko, the returning cast includes Taylor Cora as Winter and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo. Fans will also spot some exciting guest appearances from executive producer Selena Gomez, ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires star Freya Skye, Harvey Guillén, Kirsten Vangsness, Bill Chott, Sean Whalen, Amanda Tepe, and many more.

The series comes from Disney Branded Television, with Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serving as writers and executive producers. They’re joined by Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Rick Williams, Gomez, and Henrie. Wizards of Waverly Place was originally created by Todd Greenwald, whose magical universe continues to grow more than a decade later.

For anyone who hasn’t caught up yet, the full first season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is available now on Disney+.
