A compelling trailer for Season 3 of Apple TV+’s Invasion just dropped, and hints it could be the most intense installment we’ve seen of the sci-fi thriller yet. The 10-episode season premieres globally on Friday, Aug. 22, with new episodes dropping weekly through Oct. 24, 2025.
Created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, Invasion presents a global view of an alien invasion through characters scattered across New York, Afghanistan, Japan, Oklahoma and the U.K. In Season 3, these separate storylines finally converge, as the main characters unite for the first time to confront the most advanced and threatening alien species yet.
Featuring stunning visuals, the trailer reveals the alien threat is far from over. Instead of retreating, the invaders are returning more powerful—and more sinister—than ever before. It also teases that Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna) may now be able to communicate directly with the alien species, hinting at a deeper, more psychological layer to the conflict.
Returning cast members include Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza and Enver Gjokaj, with Erika Alexander joining as a new series regular.
While the action escalates, Invasion has major questions to resolve. Season 2 left fans hanging with mysterious plot lines: the origin and true function of the alien shard, the meaning behind the cryptic word “wajo” and the reason why certain children have psychic connections to the alien consciousness. The finale brought Trevante (Shamier Anderson) and the others closer to answers, but much remains unknown. Is Caspar (Billy Barratt) truly aligned with humanity? What lies beyond the portals? Catch the new season on Aug. 22 on AppleTV+ to potentially find out.
