Cory Booker is basking in the joy of marriage.
The prominent New Jersey Senator recently tied the knot with Alexis Lewis, following their engagement announcement in September. The couple celebrated their union with two distinct wedding ceremonies, and Booker expressed his heartfelt gratitude on social media, describing himself as “overflowing with gratitude.”
In a shared Instagram post on November 30, Booker reflected on their special day, stating, “We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us. First at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful.”
Their legal marriage took place on November 24 in Newark, New Jersey, during a civil ceremony witnessed by their parents, as reported by the New York Times. Just five days later, they hosted a second, more intimate ceremony in Washington, D.C., which was followed by a family-exclusive reception.
Booker, now 56, met Lewis, an investments director, through a mutual friend in May 2024, according to the publication. Their connection was instant, leading to a successful first date in Washington. Booker was so taken by Lewis that he persuaded her to postpone her flight to Newark, allowing them an opportunity for a second date—a decision that has clearly brought them much happiness.
