Mercedes “MJ” Javid has initiated divorce proceedings from her spouse of seven years.

The former star of Shahs of Sunset exchanged vows with Tommy Feight in 2018, a joyful event broadcasted on the Bravo network.

Javid and Feight share a six-year-old son, Shams. She is requesting sole physical and legal custody of the child, with Feight getting twice-weekly visitation, People reports.

In her filing, Javid, 53, said she was the primary parent “involved in the caregiving and overall needs of our minor son.” 

“I take our son to school and pick him up every day,” she said. “I also organize and take our son to his play-dates, parties, doctor’s, and dentist’s appointments. Likewise, I am responsible for his extracurricular activities and school activities with little to no involvement from [Feight].”

The reality star works as a real estate agent. She said that her career meant she had a flexible work schedule that allowed her to continue to be her son’s primary caregiver. Javid added that she did not want to “alienate” her estranged husband from their child and that she was “more than happy to mutually agree to additional visitations or modifications in the best interest of our son.”

Javid was a main cast member on Shahs of Sunset, which aired from 2012 to 2021. She’s set to return to Bravo in the upcoming show The Valley: Persian Style, which will follow her and other Shahs of Sunset alums as they take on the next stage of their life in suburban LA.
