Maxine Horne, a prominent investor on Shark Tank Australia, has recently celebrated a significant victory in the real estate market. She successfully sold her luxurious beachfront residence along Queensland’s coast for an impressive $28.5 million.

The 62-year-old business mogul, who co-founded the Vita Group, initially acquired the Noosa property as a vacant lot in 2023 for $12.5 million.

Horne transformed the site into an expansive three-story home, boasting six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and breathtaking ocean vistas.

While specifics of the transaction remain undisclosed, an agent involved in the deal confirmed to The Courier-Mail that Horne’s sale set a record for the highest property price in the region for 2025.

In a nearby comparison, another luxury property in Noosa Heads was sold in July for $26.845 million.

Horne’s home was passed in at auction on December 6, but the property was sold later this month, shortly after completion.

Situated at Sunrise Beach, 160km north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast, Horne’s dazzling resort-style mansion, known as ‘Maravilla’, is a stone’s throw from the ocean.

Designed to maximise the stunning view, the home features soaring ceilings and expansive windows throughout.

The lower ground level features a wet bar and wine cellar, and an entertainment space that opens out to manicured gardens.

There’s also a ‘wellness’ space with a gym, plunge bath, spa, five-seat infrared sauna and change room.

The mid-level boasts a main bedroom that occupies an entire corner of the floor and features a dressing room and an opulent en suite.

On the top floor, there is the kitchen and dining space which adjoins a pool deck and an undercover al fresco terrace.

The infinity pool offers stunning views as well as two built-in custom day beds.

Other highlights include dazzling design touches throughout, such as French oak and grey marble in the kitchen and polished rendered walls.

Horne, an entrepreneur based in Queensland, who is reputedly worth $900million, appeared on the 2024 Shark Tank Australia reboot.

A pioneer in tech retail, she opened Fone Zone, a mobile phone shop, on the Gold Coast in 1995.

Her Vita Group company later made earnings of $875million annually.

She sold her IT interests in the company to Telstra for $110million in 2021.

Horne’s company, which she founded with her husband David McMahon, was later taken over by Sonic Healthcare in 2024.

The high-flying businesswoman boasts a large real estate portfolio.

Last year she sold off a home in Brisbane’s New Farm for $18million after snapping it up in 2016 for $10.5milion.

She currently owns another Brisbane home in Newstead worth $5.125million.
