While no one has spotted them together since the rumors began to swirl, that is reportedly by design. There is evidence to suggest they’ve been smitten with each other for years, though.

A new A-list celebrity couple is allegedly keeping their romance quiet

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are apparently an item. A source who spoke exclusively with Star Magazine claims that Jolie and Depp are giving love a shot. The insider, whose connection to the alleged pair was not revealed, claims they’ve been meeting up in secret in both Los Angeles and London. They claim that the A-listers have been incredibly careful not to be spotted out together, as they want to keep the romance quiet. If and when they’ll reveal an actual relationship remains to be seen.

While the insider didn’t offer any concrete evidence to prove the alleged couple is meeting up in secret, it wouldn’t really come as a huge surprise. Jolie and Depp have been bonded since appearing in a movie together more than a decade ago. Jolie has even said she had a massive crush on Depp years before meeting him, once joking that she basically grew up with him. He has gushed about her in the media, too.

If Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are dating, it’s a relationship that has been almost two decades in the making. Jolie and Depp’s professional paths crossed in 2010 for The Tourist. While the pair were both in other relationships during filming, it didn’t stop them from absolutely gushing about each other. During a 2010 interview with Vanity Fair, Depp described Jolie as a “walking poem.” He went on to tell the outlet that “She’s this perfect beauty, but at the same time very smart, very clever, very quick, very funny, and also has a very perverse sense of humor.” Depp gushed about her professionalism during a different interview.

Jolie, for her part, admitted to having a massive crush on her co-star as a teen. She pointed to his role in Edward Scissorhands as the moment the crush developed. She also spoke highly of working with him, calling him brilliant at one point.

While they both spoke highly of each other, it doesn’t seem like romance was in the air in 2010. Jolie was deeply involved with Brad Pitt at that point, and Depp was still in a relationship with Vanessa Paradis. Paradis and Depp separated in 2012 after 14 years together; he went on to marry and divorce Amber Heard. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. The actors’ paths have not crossed professionally since they’ve been single; that’s not to say their personal lives haven’t.
