Keion White is currently recovering from an unexpected incident.
Just a few hours after attending the 2026 Super Bowl, the defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers was involved in a shooting incident, as confirmed by his team. He was promptly hospitalized following the event.
“This morning in San Francisco, Keion White was shot and sustained an ankle injury,” the NFL team announced on February 9. “He is now undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital. We will share additional information when appropriate.”
The San Francisco Police Department reported that White was shot around 4 a.m. on Mission Street. Although the altercation that led to the shooting was identified as the cause, authorities believe White, aged 27, was not directly involved in the dispute.
“Initial investigations indicate that a verbal confrontation occurred between two groups inside a business,” officials informed CBS Sports. “The victim was injured when an unidentified suspect discharged a firearm.”
The police department’s spokesman Evan Semoffsky also told The New York Times, “Our officers are working diligently on this investigation and we’re following multiple leads.”
