Everything else on the service has been licensed from another studio or production company, some of whose business interests align with Netflix, and some of whose compete directly with Netflix. As the tectonic plates of the streaming industry continue to shift, Netflix is either gaining or losing the rights to house these movies and shows on their service. Once a month, Netflix sends out a list of everything that is going to expire from their service so their customers can plan accordingly.
