Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi isn’t trying to live down her most infamous Jersey Shore moment.
Fifteen years after she ended up in handcuffs on the boardwalk, Snooki returned to the scene of her crime, where she reunited with the cop who arrested her.
“HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY TO ME TRYNA FIND THE BEACH & so excited i got to hang with the cop that arrested me that glorious day,” she wrote on Instagram on July 30.
Snooki revisits ‘disgusting’ moment on the beach
Polizzi – now a married mom of three – made reality TV history in the season 3 episode of the MTV series, which aired in 2010. After yet another night of hard partying, the still-intoxicated Snooki bailed on her shift at the T-shirt stop to drink some more. Eventually, she ended sprinting down the boardwalk. “Where is the beach?” she cried, seemingly unaware that the was standing right next to the sand. Eventually, police intervened, and she was hauled off to jail, all while protesting that she was “a f*cking good person.”
In a video shared on TikTok, Snooki – who just launched a new line of arrest-themed merch at her Seaside Heights store, The Snooki Shop – talks with Joe Fastige, the officer who took her into custody her that day, for the first time since her arrest.
“That day, what was going through your mind? What did you think when you saw me being disgusting on the beach?” she asks.
“Not disgusting, just having a little bit of fun,” Fastige replies. “Too much fun, but that’s OK. Honestly, I don’t know. I was 21 years old at the time… a baby cop, a year out of the academy, and I was getting paid a little bit of overtime to kind of watch you guys.”
Fastige assured Snooki that he didn’t judge her for her youthful misadventures.
“It’s OK, everyone makes mistakes,” he said. “Everyone gets a little bit too drunk and forgets where the beach is, even if the beach is right under your feet.”
‘Jersey Shore’ alum shed more light on beach arrest incident
In past interviews, Polizzi has said that even though she was “drinking nonstop,” she wasn’t quite as out of it as it seemed during the “where’s the beach?” incident. She knew she was right next to the beach, but couldn’t find a way to get down to the sand.
“My drunk self was like, ‘How do I get on the beach?’ There’s only a certain amount of entries to get on the beach,” she said in a 2024 episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast. “I couldn’t find them anywhere, so I was like, ‘Where’s the beach? How do I get on the beach?’ And the guy’s like, ‘Right there,’ and I’m like, ‘I know, moron. How do I get on the beach?’”
