It turns out Easter isn’t the only holiday being celebrated today.

Pot appreciators Snoop Dogg, Chelsea Handler, and more took to social media to mark ‘420’, the unofficial cannabis holiday.

Marijuana is celebrated every April 20th by countless pot aficionados – celebrities included. 

The fact both Easter and 420 fell on the same day this year did not go unnoticed by Snoop Dogg, who had a laugh over a photo of him dressed as the Easter Bunny that was titled ‘When 420 falls on Easter Sunday.’

‘Good morning!’ the 53-year-old posted to X with two laughing crying emojis and a prayer hands emoji.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, 50, shared a sketch from her former talk show Chelsea Lately, in which she played a judge hearing a dispute between a ‘pothead’ and her brother.

She inspects a bag of marijuana by inhaling deeply from it.  ‘Judges are more important now than ever,’ she captioned the post.

Wiz Khalifa got ‘high af’ as he smoked two joints at once in video posted to his Instagram. 

‘Happy 4/20. Time to get stone until everything is funny. I got high af making this video for yall. Taylor gang the world,’ the musician, who has his own weed brand Khalifa Kush, captioned the video.

Olivia Wilde shared a photo of what appeared to be a fake book entitled I’m So High My Paws Look Weird.

‘And a happy Easter 4/20 to all!’ Olivia wrote.

It’s not entirely clear where 420 originated from, with there are many modern-day myths surrounding it’s roots.

One of the most concrete theories, however, says 420 was started by a group of California students in the 60s who went searching for a marijuana garden after school at 4:20PM, and subsequently continued using ‘420’ as code to go out for a smoke. 

While the legal status surrounding marijuana varies in the U.S. and around the world, several celebrities have gotten into the cannabis business themselves.

Snoop famously is a huge marijuana lover and has even opened up the Los Angeles weed dispensary, SWED A Snoop Dogg Dispensary LAX.

In 2023, Snoop told MailOnline he had moderated his weed consumption and re-evaluated his lifestyle after becoming a grandfather.

‘Being a grandfather has changed me in multiple ways,’ he told MailOnline. ‘The main way is being concerned with how I live, how I move, the kind of people I’m associated with, because I want to see my grandkids grow old.

‘The only way I can do that is to take precautionary steps as far as how I move, who I hang out with, where I go out, my intake, what am I intaking?

‘Am I doing extra-curricular or am I just doing what I’m supposed to be doing?’

The rapper is said to smoke up to 150 joints a day according to his full-time blunt roller Renegade Piranha, who earns more than $50,000-a-year just to roll them.

Speaking in October 2023, Piranha told Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show that her boss likes to smoke about half a pound of marijuana each day, the equivalent of 75 to 150 joints.

‘I calculate it at over 450,000,’ Piranha said during the interview on the number of blunts she’s rolled for the rap artist.

Snoop revealed in a 2013 Twitter Q&A that he smokes up to 81 blunts per day, consistent with Piranha’s estimate.
