Rumors Suggest Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is Planning to Flee the United Kingdom for the Middle East

Former prince, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, attends the QIPCO King George Weekend before he was stirpped of his royal titles and his home; now he's rumored to be planning a move to a new country.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, once a prince, appears to be charting a new course for his life, one that leads him 4,000 miles away from the United Kingdom. As the deadline for his departure from the Royal Lodge approaches, rumors swirl about his next move, with whispers suggesting a potential relocation to the Middle East. This decision comes after his brother, King Charles, ordered him to vacate the residence, and it seems Andrew might be looking to put significant distance between himself and the royal family.

The former prince’s eviction date, set for January 25, is fast approaching, leaving him at a crossroads about where to call home next. While earlier indications had him possibly following familial directives, recent reports hint at a bolder step. Bahrain, a small island nation in the Persian Gulf, has emerged as a likely destination for Andrew’s fresh start. Should he choose this path, he’ll join a list of royals who’ve sought refuge far from the public eye. Notably absent from these plans appears to be his ex-wife, who is reportedly not accompanying him on this journey.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s eviction date is looming. Several months back, the former prince was ordered to leave behind the Royal Lodge in favor of a much more far-flung residence. The date of January 25 is drawing near. While it originally looked like the ex-prince would follow his big brother’s orders, rumors now suggest the newest Mountbatten-Windsor will opt for an even more far-flung locale. He may leave the United Kingdom altogether and take up residence in the Middle East. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor wouldn’t be the first disgraced royal to do it. His ex-wife, however, does not appear to be along for the ride.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could move to Bahrain

The former prince, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is going to have to make a final decision on where to move sooner rather than later. While he’s been suspiciously quiet since King Charles kicked him out of the Royal Lodge, reports suggest he’s been planning a big move that will take him far from the royal family. This week, several outlets reported that the former prince is planning to establish a new life in Bahrain. Bahrain is an island nation in the Persian Gulf. It is nearly 4,000 miles from London.

While it might seem like a pretty obscure choice for the formal royal, it actually isn’t. Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly has ties to the House of Al Khalifa, the ruling family of Bahrain. The nation has also welcomed other exiled royals. Former King Juan Carlos I of Spain is said to live in the Middle Eastern nation. According to Forbes, Juan Carlos I left Spain amid allegations of financial corruption. It is also far from the media spotlight that the former prince should be extremely wary of these days. Logically, it works.

Where is Sarah Ferguson headed?

Sarah Ferguson had been living with her infamous ex-husband since around 2008, despite having split from him back in the 1990s. She seemed perfectly comfortable in the Royal Lodge, but all good things must come to an end. Ferguson was served the same eviction proclamation as her famous ex, and while she and her former prince, Andrew, reportedly get along just fine, they won’t move into a new home together again. While the former prince is rumored to be headed to Bahrain, Ferguson is allegedly moving to Portugal.

Back in November, shortly after the eviction orders were issued, the Daily Record revealed that Ferguson was likely headed to Melides, Portugal, where her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, spend half the year. Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank also have a residence in London, though there is no indication that Ferguson would reside there as well.

Additional rumors suggest the mother of two royal princesses has also been househunting in the Windsor area. Still, Portugal seems like her most likely landing spot, at least while she sorts out what to do next. When King Charles issued the move order, he did not offer Ferguson housing. According to insiders, only his brother was given the option to move to Sandringham. From the sounds of it, Andrew won’t be taking that offer anyway.
