Ayesha and Stephen Curry had double the reason to celebrate on May 11th. The couple not only celebrated Mother’s Day, but also their youngest son Caius Curry’s first birthday.

“Our baby boy turned ONE today! Cai cai, the sweetest boy,” Ayesha wrote on Instagram alongside photos of her baby boy. “I can’t believe it’s been a year. Bursting from the seams with love for him. This was a very nuanced day. I’ve had so many emotions.”

And while Caius’ birthday was front and center, Mother’s Day wasn’t overlooked. Stephen took a moment to honor his wife with a sweet tribute, recognizing all she does for their family of six.

“Not enough words to describe what you mean to our family—all the sacrifice, holding down the fort while I’m gone. All the road trips, the crazy schedules, the missed holidays, through it all you’re the backbone of our family. Couldn’t do any of this without you and our four babies are beyond blessed to have you as their Mama!”

The Currys are parents to Riley Elizabeth Curry (born July 19, 2012), Ryan Carson Curry (born July 10, 2015), Canon W. Jack Curry (born July 18, 2018), and Caius Chai Curry, who was born May 11, 2024.

Ayesha previously opened up about the couple’s decision to grow their family in an essay for her Sweet July website. After years of thinking their family was complete, she and Stephen had a change of heart.

“For so many years, Stephen and I thought we were done,” she wrote at the time. “And then, last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again.”

She shared that the feeling of “someone missing” began to linger in her day-to-day life.

“For me, the decision came from always finding myself looking around and feeling like somebody was missing. I would load up the car and think, ‘Oh, I forgot something.’ But nobody was forgotten,” she said. “It started to turn my brain a little bit. Maybe somebody was missing. So we set out on this journey, knowing that this would complete our family.”
