Adut Akech is eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new family member.
The renowned 26-year-old supermodel recently shared the joyous news that she and her partner, Samuel Elkhier, are expecting their second child. She took to Instagram earlier this month to make the announcement, delighting fans with a series of stunning photos from a maternity shoot.
Captioning the post, Akech wrote, “Baby #2. Kiki entering her big sister era,” expressing her gratitude and excitement. “God’s divine timing is truly perfect. To be blessed once again with the sacred gift of life is the greatest honor of my life. My heart is so full. Thank You, God!”
In her heartfelt message, she also included a quote from Psalm 121:8 and extended her gratitude to the creative team—photographer, stylist, and makeup artist—who helped her immortalize this precious moment.
Akech has openly shared how becoming a mother has transformed her life. In a candid interview with Vogue back in November 2025, she reflected on the profound impact of welcoming her first child.
” Motherhood… the patience I have learned I didn’t think was possible. Obviously, there are ups and downs, but the minute they come into this world, nothing else matters. You forget about labour, you forget about being pregnant for nine months. Everything goes out the window and you enter this new world of every time you look at them, just thinking, ‘Oh my god. What? You’re mine? I made you? You’re just the cutest thing ever.’ And you’re in this bubble. I’m still in that bubble, and I hope I never come out of that.
She continued, “I think that being a mother has just made me become an overall better person. I’m more… I mean, I think I was a very kind person before, but I think I’m just more kind now. I just appreciate everything. I appreciate life. I appreciate the things I didn’t necessarily appreciate as much before. And I’m a better friend. I’m a better partner, I think, when I’m not being a raging b… you know?”
Akech welcomed her first child, daughter Kiki, in November 2024.
