It has the makings of Sydney Sweeney’s latest scandal.

Weeks after the furore over her American Eagle advert, reports have emerged that the 27-year-old actress is now dating none other than Taylor Swift’s enemy, Scooter Braun.

Sweeney and the record executive, 44, are said to be ‘casual’ but have been ‘on multiple dates’.

At least, that’s according to TMZ. For now, a source close to Sweeney has told the Daily Mail that ‘they are not exclusive,’ and won’t be anytime soon.

‘Now that this is out, it is not going to help Scooter gain any points with her because she considers herself single and Scooter is not her boyfriend,’ the source added.

The Daily Mail can also reveal that Braun appears to still be active on high-profile dating app Raya.

Nonetheless, it is understood that he ‘wants something more and something official’, while Sweeney is ‘being very carefree’ not matter how much she ‘enjoys Braun’s company’.

A second source reveals that Sweeney has ‘always’ liked older men. Indeed, her ex-ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino, from who she split in January, was 15 years her senior.

‘When they got together, you wouldn’t even notice the age difference; she was quite young and she looked quite young, but when you talked to her and saw her intelligence and maturity, she felt older,’ the second source said. 

All of which means that friends ‘don’t think the age difference between her and Scooter would be a problem. She’s not a trophy for him, she’s not going to stay home and make dinner.’

Dating rumors between Sweeney and Braun – who was famously embroiled in a years long rift with Swift over the ownership of her musical masters – started up in June, when the pair were spotted together in Venice, Italy, for the wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez. 

It is thought to be when the pair first met, though it is unclear when their acquaintance turned romantic.

Since splitting from her fiancé, Sweeney has been dating around, our source close to the actress said. 

‘Sydney has just ended a relationship and she’s doing what women in their 20’s do; she’s dating,’ an insider confirmed to TMZ. 

Sweeney and Braun have been spending time together and ‘will hang out again,’ our source continued, before stressing that no one should anticipate anything ‘serious’ to come of it.

Braun was previously married to South African–born Canadian health activist Yael Cohen for eight years. They share three young children and divorced in 2022. 

In 2019, the music executive – who was also Justin Bieber’s former manager – purchased Swift’s musical masters in a deal reportedly worth more than $300 million.

In the years since, Swift have very publicly battled against Braun, claiming that she had tried to purchse the masters herself but had not been given the chance.

She subsequently re-recorded several of her albums before, in May this year, Swift finally bought back the rights to all her music for a reported $360 million.

Sweeney and Braun did not respond to requests comment.
