Tamar Braxton has revealed that she won’t be dating again until her son reaches adulthood, prioritizing her role as a mother. The singer and television personality shared her decision to focus on raising her son before considering romantic relationships.

“My kid is 11, I probably won’t date again until he’s 18,” the 47-year-old said during an interview with Nivea on the Life, Love, & Beyond with Tamar & Taz podcast. “There’s no way I’m going to bring another man into his life to be unsuccessful. There’s no way.”

Braxton added that some men falsely tell you what you want to hear just to enter a relationship.

“They’re broken because they feel like to get a good woman, these are the things that you have to say. ‘I want a wife I want a family,’” she said.

Braxton and her ex-husband, Vince Herbert, divorced in 2017. The couple share one son, 11-year-old son, Logan. Since her divorce, the multi-hyphenated entertainer has been in two very public relationships.

She dated Nigerian business man, David Adefeso between 2018-2020. After that relationship failed, The Braxton Family Values reality star dated Jeremy “JR” Robinson in 2023 while on the Peacock reality show, Queen’s Court. The couple went on to get engaged, but ended their relationship in 2024.

One parent single parent noted in an interview with, StephanSpeaks.com that, “It’s also important to remember your kids matter in selecting a partner. Take it slow. Don’t introduce until you get to know the person more and then do it in environments comfortable for the kids.”

It looks like Tamar is unquestionably on the right path when it taking a pause on dating and prioritizing her son over romantic relationships.
