TLC star Tammy Slaton wants to be there for her sister, Amy Slaton. But not if it means inviting “demons” and “evil spirits” into her life. 

In a clip from the June 10 season finale of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy and Amy get into a heated argument over Tammy’s refusal to attend Amy’s upcoming wedding to Brian Scott Lovvom. An emotional Amy thinks Tammy isn’t supporting her new relationship. Tammy says she’s not upset about Amy and Brian’s impending marriage, but rather the couple’s unconventional venue for their ceremony – a supposedly haunted former sanatorium for TB patients.

Amy’s erratic behavior has been a source of concern for Tammy and her other siblings throughout this season of 1000-lb Sisters. First, the mom of two was embroiled in drama following a camel bite incident at a Tennessee zoo. Then, the 37-year-old got engaged to Brian after just five months of dating, despite her family’s fears that she was rushing into another marriage marriage. (Amy divorced her first husband, Michael Halterman, in 2023.) 

Despite the conflict, Amy and Brian are moving forward with wedding planning. They even have an eye on a location for their big day: the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. It’s a former hospital for tuberculosis patients in Louisville, Kentucky, that’s now a paranormal tourist attraction. 

Tammy thinks Amy should think twice before saying “I do” in a place many believe to be haunted. 

In a video shared on TLC’s Instagram, Tammy tells Amy that she misses the sister she used to have. 

“She died the day you told me you weren’t going to my wedding,” a tearful Amy says. 

“I wasn’t going to your wedding at a location like that, with demons,” Tammy replies. 

Tammy fears Amy has already attracted an ‘evil spirit’

Amy thinks Tammy is refusing to attend her wedding out of spite. But Tammy genuinely believes her sister is putting herself at risk if she goes forward with her wedding plan.

“What happens if something gets attached to you and you bring it home?” she asks. “That’s what I’m trying to tell you.”

“You should go there and support me,” Amy says. “It don’t matter where the f***ing location is.”

“Hell no,” Tammy replies, adding that Amy is “out of [her] mind” if she thinks her family will relent on this issue.  

Tammy insists that she and the rest of the family will happily attend Amy’s wedding, as long as she chooses a different venue.

“I don’t want to go to your wedding if it’s at a goddamn haunted location with demons,” she says. 

In an interview with a producer, Tammy says that a stubborn Amy is deliberately twisting her words to make herself into a victim.  

“I’d be more than willing to f*** go,” she says. “I’d be a bridesmaid, whatever. Just not somewhere that’s f***ing cursed.” 

Unfortunately, Tammy worries that the damage may have already been done. 

“I kind of feel like she’s already got something attached to her,” Tammy adds, choking up. “Like an evil spirit.”

1000-lb Sisters airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
