Starz spirited San Diego Comic-Con attendees back in time today with two Hall H panels honoring Outlander‘s upcoming final season and the launch of prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood. While tons of fun news was shared with fans, perhaps the biggest treat was the first teaser trailer for Outlander Season 8.

The teaser trailer for Outlander‘s eighth and final season treats fans to a nostalgic look back at all that’s come before, from the moment Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) first met to the couple’s emotional night before the Battle of Monmouth. The Outlander Season 8 teaser ends with our first glimpses of the Starz show’s final season. We see the Frasers returning to the Ridge and learn that Jamie is somehow reading an American history book written by one Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies). Jamie confides in Claire that Frank’s book warns that “War is coming to the back country and that James Fraser dies in it.” (Noooooooooooooooo!)

We also finally know when Outlander Season 8 is coming out. The final season of Outlander will be hitting Starz in early 2026.

Besides the Outlander Season 8 teaser trailer, Starz also unveiled two new clips from Outlander: Blood of My Blood. In one clip, we get to see the start of Jamie’s parents’ love story. Young Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) meets Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) at a spectacularly beautiful natural stone bridge in the Scottish highlands. Here, they reveal their names to each other and learn that their relationship is already doomed. They come from warring clans, Romeo & Juliet style.

The other Outlander: Blood of My Blood clip shows us Claire’s parents, Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Morriston (Hermione Corfield), vacationing in 1920s Scotland. They bring up little Claire and the local horticulture. It’s a scene that evokes Claire’s own second honeymoon with Frank all the way back in the Outlander series premiere.

The first two episodes of Outlander: Blood of My Blood premiere on Starz on August 8, 2025.

Again, Outlander Season 8 will come out sometime early in 2026. Nous sommes prêts.
