As Teyana Taylor’s daughter, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., steps into her tenth year, emotions are running high for the proud mom.

On Wednesday, the multi-talented singer and actress marked this special milestone on Instagram, posting a heartfelt tribute accompanied by a collection of cherished photos to commemorate the journey they’ve embarked on since Junie’s birth.

“Happy 10th birthday, my beautiful girl @gottalovejunie. From your humble beginnings, your soul was destined to soar. I love you so so so so so much, baby girl. DOUBLE DIGITS???? This is tewwwwww muchhhhhh,” Taylor expressed.

With Junie’s transition into double digits, Taylor found herself reminiscing about the transformative day her daughter entered the world and the profound impact it had on her life.

“A decade ago, on a bathroom floor… The world fell silent as you made your entrance, and in that quiet, everything transformed. There were no spectators, no plans, no scripts. Just breath, prayer, your dad, some headphone cords 😩 your brother Boski 🐺🕊️, and a love so deep it shattered my heart open. In that tiny space, God met us and made it sacred,” Taylor reflected.

That experience, she explained, shaped how she came to understand strength and faith from the very beginning.

“In that small space, you were born between fear and faith, between pain and promise,” she continued. “Before you ever took your first breath, you were already teaching us that strength doesn’t have to be loud, and miracles don’t need a stage to be real.”

Taylor also shared how meaningful it has been to watch Junie grow into her own person.

“Watching you grow has been one of the greatest honors of my life. You carry gentleness and bravery in the same breath. You move through the world with curiosity, kindness, and a light that feels entirely your own,” she wrote, adding that she thanks God every year for trusting her with such a precious love.

She added that her role in her daughter’s life will never change.
