Actor Aaron Pierre has quietly revealed that he’s a father.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the Mufasa: The Lion King star posted two photos: one of his hand pressed against a child’s and another of the pair holding hands while walking outdoors.

He simply captioned the post: “sonshine.”

The post drew a response from his girlfriend, singer and actress Teyana Taylor, who commented, “Da boyyyyyyyyyyyyzzzzzzz.”

The reveal came as a surprise to fans, as Pierre has long kept his personal life private.

Reactions online ranged from excitement to humor.

“You mean to tell me there’s a Simba?!” one fan wrote.

Another noted, “The man don’t need to advertise he has a Child and he doesn’t need to post it, I’m sure he is a great Dad, I personally love that he kept his face hidden..the internet too damn nosey and always feel they need to know the celebrity while business, all we need to know is what movies or song they are putting out..entertainment wise..their love life and their Children is not our business and we certainly don’t need to know if they have any or how many..just leave it at that.”

Pierre’s relationship with Taylor has been closely followed since the pair went public earlier this year. Taylor finalized her divorce from former NBA player Iman Shumpert in 2024, and the two share daughters Junie and Rue.

Some fans pointed out the timing of the reveal.
