Red, the hot-tempered hero known for his epic battles against green pigs and his valiant efforts to protect Bird Island, is now up against a challenge much closer to home. This time, he’s not trying to save the world by simply getting angry; he’s stepping into the relatable role of fatherhood.
In the eagerly awaited first glimpse of The Angry Birds Movie 3, Red finds himself navigating uncharted waters. Now both a husband and a father, he discovers that the chaotic unpredictability of family life is a tougher battlefield than any he’s faced before.
The trailer humorously captures his struggle with life’s less glamorous responsibilities: from battling diaper-duty to frantically baby-proofing the house, and attempting to bond with teenagers who have little interest in spending quality time with their dad. Yet, just as Red begins to settle into his new routine, destiny calls him once again for another world-saving mission.
Returning to provide his unmistakable voice to Red is Jason Sudeikis, accompanied by Rachel Bloom, reprising her role as Silver. The turbulent couple is navigating parenthood with three children: a teenage son named Glider, voiced by Walker Scobell, a teenage daughter, June, voiced by Emma Myers, and their youngest, a lively hatchling named Olly, whose voice is brought to life by Psalm West.
Beloved characters Chuck and Bomb make their return, voiced once more by Josh Gad and Danny McBride, respectively. Joining the ensemble is a fresh and vibrant cast that includes voices from Keke Palmer, Lily James, Tim Robinson, Marcello Hernández, Anna Cathcart, Nikki Glaser, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Sam Richardson, James Austin Johnson, and popular names like MrBeast and Salish Matter.
Directed by John Rice from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman, The Angry Birds Movie 3 continues the film series inspired by Rovio’s hit mobile game.
The original Angry Birds Movie earned about $352 million worldwide following its 2016 release, while the 2019 sequel brought in roughly $147 million globally. Seven years after the last film, the franchise returns to theaters with a story that puts as much emphasis on family as it does on adventure. The Angry Birds Movie 3 opens exclusively in theaters on Dec. 23, 2026.
