The Gilded Age Season 4: What We Know About the Premiere Date

Is it finally time to step back into the lavish, high-stakes world of HBO’s The Gilded Age?

Created by Downton Abbey mastermind Julian Fellowes alongside co-creator and co-showrunner Sonja Warfield, The Gilded Age is HBO’s acclaimed period drama set in 1880s New York. The series follows the city’s established “Old New York” elite as they face an influx of self-made millionaires, including railroad tycoons, oil barons and other robber barons.

Carrie Coon leads the cast as Bertha Russell, a character loosely modeled on real-life socialite Alma Vanderbilt, while Morgan Spector plays her ambitious and often roguish husband, George Russell. By the end of Season 3, the normally united couple had been driven apart after Bertha defied George by marrying their beloved daughter, Gladys (Taissa Farmiga), to an English duke (Ben Lamb). Gladys eventually fell in love with the Duke of Buckingham and ended the season thrilled to tell her mother that she was pregnant. George, however, remained unable to overlook Bertha’s ruthless decision-making.

Meanwhile, Dr. William Kirkland (Jordan Donica) proposed to Peggy Scott (Denée Benton). Wealthy widow Enid Winterton (Kelley Curran), once a ladies’ maid, formed an unexpected alliance with the closeted Oscar Van Rhijn (Blake Ritson). Footman Jack Trotter (Ben Ahlers), meanwhile, left domestic service behind to pursue a future as a self-made inventor.

So what extravagant parties, social battles and romantic twists are in store for The Gilded Age Season 4? Could Larry (Harry Richardson) and Marian (Louisa Jacobson) find their way back to each other? And will George return to Bertha?
