Teen Mom: The Next Chapter season 2 didn’t exactly enchant fans. The storylines felt stale and boring. In fact, many viewers assume a third season isn’t going to happen. While the series is dull, it’s not because of the cast’s lack of drama. They are bringing it in real life and on social media just fine. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra’s adoption storyline has unfolded in front of millions for years, but the couple has taken an unexpected turn in the last year. Now staunchly anti-adoption, they have bemoaned their choice to give up their daughter and have lambasted her adoptive parents for cutting off contact. That is scandalous enough, but they were crossing even more boundaries in private.

Tyler and Catelynn have come under fire for contacting individuals claiming to be friends of their biological daughter, Carly. They believed the alleged friends were all around 15 years old while they were interacting with them via text message. According to OK Magazine, the couple admitted to reaching out due to concerns about Carly’s well-being, claiming to have received alarming information about her home life. Fans absolutely dragged them on social media for their wildly inappropriate behavior.

Jenelle Evans’ custody decisions have given fans whiplash

Jenelle Evans only returned to the Teen Mom franchise briefly, but she’s been bringing plenty of scandal to social media since her second firing. Jenelle’s lack of stability and constantly changing custody decisions have been keeping followers guessing.

After regaining custody of Jace Evans in March 2023, Jenelle has reported him as a runaway multiple times. He’s bounced around various homes and living situations since then. Most recently, Jenelle sent Jace to live with his father, Andrew Lewis, in Florida. However, the arrangement was short-lived. Jace returned to Jenelle’s home in Las Vegas just a couple of weeks after he was sent away.

Jace isn’t the only one of Jenelle’s kids who has had some custody issues. She has made some rash decisions regarding Kaiser Griffith’s living situation, too. A few months ago, she dropped Kaiser off with his paternal grandmother after trouble with the Las Vegas school system. The placement was, again, short-lived. She flew him back to Las Vegas a few weeks later after the media got wind of the preteen’s new living situation.

A list of Teen Mom scandals would feel incomplete without mentioning Amber Portwood. The troubled mother of two has been embroiled in several scandals on Teen Mom, but more recently, she has been stirring up trouble on social media. TikTok Live is her platform of choice. She has spent the last several months absolutely unraveling live on camera, hurling insults and accusations along the way.

Portwood has made accusations against Gary Shirley, claiming he assaulted her. She’s criticized MTV and the Teen Mom crew and started feuds with her former castmates. Amber also made various negative remarks about her daughter. These incidents have further strained her relationship with Leah Shirley. They are currently estranged.
