It’s been nearly three decades since Adam Sandler launched to movie stardom with his 1996 hit comedy, Happy Gilmore. Now, Sandler heads back to the green with a 2025 sequel, Happy Gilmore 2, which began streaming on Netflix today.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck, with a screenplay written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, this sequel finds Happy once again returning to golf in order to pay for his daughter’s ballet school. OG stars Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, and Christopher McDonald are all back, while rapper Bad Bunny and director Benny Safdie join the cast as newcomers. But now that Sandler’s a super star, a good portion of the movie is dedicated to celebrity cameos.
There are so many big names in the Happy Gilmore 2 cast, that it’s hard to tell where the line between “cameo” and “supporting role” begins and ends. While we’re certain that we missed some here and there, Decider has attempted to put together a full list of the Happy Gilmore 2 cameos in the Happy Gilmore 2 cast below. If we missed any big ones, let us know in the comments. (Actors returning to roles from the first movie, like Ben Stiller as Hal L., don’t count as cameos, we’ve decided.)
And no, Sydney Sweeney is not in Happy Gilmore 2. We’re not sure where that rumor came from.
Steve Buscemi as the bad neighbor
Happy Gilmore’s downgrade to a more “affordable” neighborhood comes with some questionable new neighbors, including a guy played by Oscar-nominated actor Steve Buscemi, whom we first meet while he’s peeing on a mailbox.
Jon Lovitz as a disgruntled golfer
Comedian Jon Lovitz—who overlapped with Sandler at Saturday Night Live for one year, and has appeared in other Sandler flicks like The Wedding Singer—gets a brief scene as a fellow golfer in the box next to Happy Gilmore at the driving range. Happy keeps hitting Lovitz’s ball with his ball, until Lovitz finally snaps. “Do you mind?” Lovitz demands, in his classic Lovitz style. “Go back to your mo-BILE home.”
Eminem as the “Ya jackass!” guy
Played in the first movie by Freaks and Geeks actor Joe Flaherty (who sadly died last year at the age of 82), the role of a hat-clad heckler who won’t stop calling Happy a “jackass” is now played by Michigan-born rapper Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem. Fans got a sneak peek of this cameo in the Happy Gilmore 2 trailer, when Eminem gets up in Sandler’s face to spit his classic line, “Jackass!” Just wait til you see what happens next.
Guy Fieri as the Maxi Golf Tournament host
Perhaps the most random cameo in the movie was American restaurateur and TV personality Guy Fieri, who shows up at the end of the movie as the host of the Maxi Golf Tournament. He even gets to break up a fight between the competing golfers!
Post Malone as DJ Omar Gosh
If there’s a movie with celebrity cameos, you can bet Post Malone is in. In Happy Gilmore 2, Post makes a few brief appearances as “DJ Omar Gosh,” a Twitch-esque commentator for Maxi, the new version of golf invented by Benny Safdie’s character. Alongside Verne Lundquist (who once again plays himself), Post provides insightful sports commentary like, “That sucks.”
Kid Cudi as the FBI agent
Rapper Kid Cudi, aka Scott Mescudi, has been pursuing an acting career for the last 10 years or so, and pops up in all kinds of movies these days. That includes Happy Gilmore 2, where he appears in the very last scene as an FBI agent who arrests Ben Stiller’s character, Hal L., for abusive his Alcoholics Anonymous program.
Rob Schneider as the tricycle cowboy
Sandler’s longtime friend and collaborator, comedian Rob Schneider, pops up as a cowboy riding a tricycle in Happy’s “happy place,” a reference to the original movie, and shouts “You can do it!” a reference to his character in The Water Boy.
Blake Clark as a beach version of Farmer Fran
Comedian and frequent Sandler collaborator Blake Clark appears in the movie as a homeless man on the beach who “helps” Happy get his golf game back. In another reference to The Waterboy, Clark nods to his nipple-ring clad Waterboy character by fondling his nipples, at one point.
Ken Jennings as himself
Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings gets a chance to poke fun at Gilmore in his cameo appearance. When none of the contestants can remember Gilmore’s name, and guess increasingly Jewish-sounding names, Jennings replies, “He is Jewish, but we were looking for Happy Gilmore.”
Sean Evans from Hot Ones as himself
Say goodbye to the days of Jimmy Fallon cameos, because the new hot talk show host these days is Hot Ones host Sean Evans. In Happy Gilmore 2, Evans interviews Benny Safdie’s character, Frank Manatee, about his new spin on the sport of golf.
Cam’ron and his “Talk with Flee” posse as themselves
The popularity talk show and podcast, “Talk with Flee,” co-hosted by rapper Cam’ron, gets some screen time in Happy Gilmore 2, as the culture icons follow along with Happy’s comeback.
Bobby Lee and Alix Earle as themselves
More influencer cameos: Comedian and podcast host Bobby Lee, and Tik Toker Alix Earle both make appearances in Happy Gilmore 2.
Becky Lynch as Flex, Nikki Bella as Medusa, Fernando Marrero as Screech, and Reggie Bush as 8 Ball
Pro-wrestlers Nikki Bella, Fernando Marrero, and Becky Lynch all appear in the movie. Lynch and Marrero appear as two of the Maxi golfers, Flex and Screech, who get a few lines, a few swings of the golf club, and a choreographed dance to “Eye of the Tiger.” Nikki Bella, unfortunately, doesn’t get a speaking part, and can just be seen in the background of some shots during the Maxi golf tournament. In a recent episode of “The Nikki and Brie Show,” the wrestler revealed all her speaking parts were cut.
“I was really bummed, and like devastated, yeah and like red-faced,” she admitted.
Meanwhile, former NFL running back Reggie Bush makes an appearance as another Maxi golfer who goes by “8 Ball.”
Boban Marjanovic as Mr. Larson’s son
This Serbian-born NBA player—who looms at 7 feet, 4 inches—was the perfect choice to play the son of Mr. Larson, Happy’s former intimidating-yet-supportive boss. The actor who played Mr. Larson, Richard Kiel, died back in 2014. But Marjanovic carries on his legacy by being equal parts silly and scary.
Travis Kelce as the mean waiter
Kansas City’s star NFL champion, Travis Kelce, gets a few scenes in Happy Gilmore 2, including one in which Bad Bunny slathers him in honey and sics a hungry bear on him. Credited simply as “Waiter” in the cast list, Kelce plays a verbally abusive waiter who fires his bus boy (Bad Bunny) for no good reason.
John Daly as himself (kinda)
We’re not sure if this one really counts as a cameo, given that retired pro-golfer John Daly is a full-blown character in Happy Gilmore 2, as a fictionalized version of himself who’s fallen on hard times. After Happy loses his grandmother’s house, he relocates to a bad neighborhood, where John Daly moves into his garage. He becomes something of a pet to the Gilmore family, with Happy reminding his children to “feed John Daly” while he’s away.
Eric Andre, Margaret Qualley, and Martin Herlihy as amateur golfers
Again, not sure if it counts as a “cameo” when these three have a pretty substantial sequence, as the amateur golfers that Happy Gilmore finds himself paired with when he’s getting his groove back. That said, comedian Eric Andre and The Substance star Margaret Qualley likely wouldn’t usually take such small roles. And Saturday Night Live writer, and Please Don’t Destroy member, Martin Herlihy, gets a special in because his dad, Tim Herlihy, co-wrote both Happy Gilmore movies with Sandler.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman as Happy’s oldest son
Again, not so much a cameo as a full supporting role: The pro-wrestler often known as MJF plays Happy’s oldest meat-head son, Gordie.
Jackie Sandler as the ballet teacher
While Julie Bowen plays Happy’s on-screen wife, Sandler’s actual wife, Jackie Sandler, also appears in Happy Gilmore 2 in a few brief scenes, as the ballet instructor for Happy daughter, who sees her potential.. Sandler has a long history of family cameos in his movies. Jackie has appeared in over 30 of her husband’s films.
Sunny Sandler as Vienna, and Sadie Sandler as Charlotte
Sandler’s IRL daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler, have appeared in over 20 of his films, and Happy Gilmore 2 is no exception. His younger daughter, Sunny, play’s his on-screen daughter Vienna, an aspiring ballet dancer. His older daughter, Sadie, plays a young woman that Happy meets in Alcoholics Anonymous, who helps him on his sobriety journey.
Recently, Sunny in particular has been taking on more significant roles in her father’s films—like her heartwarming performance as the lead in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and now this lead role in Happy Gilmore 2.
Bad Bunny as Oscar the caddy
This one is definitely not a cameo, and straight up just a supporting role, but we’ll include it all the same. International pop star Bad Bunny (credited in the script by his real name, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), plays Oscar, an eager-to-please bus boy-turned-caddy. Happy witnesses Oscar getting fired from his restaurant job, and feels bad for the guy. When Happy (yet again) forgets to provide his own caddy for a golf competition, he hires Oscar.
Marcello Hernandez as Esteban
Current SNL star Marcello Hernandez, aka “Domingo,” gets a small role as Bad Bunny’s dopey cousin, Esteban.
A lot of current and retired pro-golfers as themselves.
There are, quite frankly, too many golfer cameos in this movie to include every single one on this list. However, the four who get the biggest roles—and who play on Happy’s team in the Maxi tournament—are Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson Dechambeau, and Brooks Koepka, pictured above. Scheffler gets a particularly funny moment in the Happy Gilmore 2 mid-credits scene.
Other golfer cameos in Happy Gilmore 2 include Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Corey Pavin, Fred Couples, Xander Schauffele, Paige Spiranac, Charley Hull, David Duval, Colin Montgomerie, Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, Annabel Angel, Wyndham Clark, Bubba Watson, Tony Finau, Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, Charles Howell III, and Sir Nick Faldo.
