Theresa Nist is breaking her silence to address the claims made by Gerry Turner in his forthcoming book that portrays her in an unfavorable light. Turner, who is Nist’s ex-husband, recently implied that she should be “worried” about the revelations in his tell-all memoir. However, Nist appears unfazed and ready to share her side of the story.
In a candid conversation on the podcast Dear Shandy, Nist, who gained fame as the winner of the first season of The Golden Bachelor, decided it was time to speak up about her brief marriage to Turner. She describes a relationship where Turner displayed a dark demeanor and was prone to bouts of anger, often putting her down. Importantly, Nist is not the only person to have expressed such concerns about Turner.
Gerry Turner recently claimed that his ex-wife, Theresa Nist, should be “worried” about his upcoming book. It looks like the opposite might be true. While Nist, who won season 1 of The Golden Bachelor, has been careful to keep her thoughts on Turner to herself, she feels like she now has to come out and share her story. In doing so, she’s painting a picture of a dark and easily angered Turner who readily put her down during their short marriage. She isn’t the only one who has made such claims, either.

Theresa Nist isn’t going to sit by and let her ex-husband bash her for a paycheck. The finance professional recently sat down for an episode of Dear Shandy, and she opened up about her short-lived marriage. While Nist kept quiet about what really went wrong immediately after the split, she’s talking now, and she’s telling a very interesting tale.
During her podcast appearance, Nist revealed that Turner had a temper that he didn’t let show until after the cameras stopped rolling. She recalled mentioning that she didn’t care for cold cuts, and having Turner jump on that. She said the Indiana-native called her an “East Coast Snob” for her distaste for deli meat. Nist said Turner claimed she had insulted him. Nist chuckled during the retelling of the story, not that the entirety of the East Coast enjoys a sandwich. She said that she’s the odd one out in most cases.
During the remainder of the interview, Nist painted a picture of a temperamental and difficult man. She suggested he was hell-bent on blaming her for the decision he had made, whether it was made alone or with her. Nist might seem like just a scorned former lover to some. After all, she’s only speaking out after he got nasty. Still, there is plenty of resaons to believe her story is the accurate one. She’s actually not the first woman ot step forward and accuse Turner of bad behavior.
The ‘The Golden Bachelor’ winner seems to be echoing sentiments of a past love
Theresa Nist is just the latest lady to accuse Gerry Turner of being mean-spirited and difficult. Shortly before the finale of his season of The Golden Bachelor aired, The Hollywood Reporter published an exposé. The outlet spoke to a woman who dated Turner immediately following his wife’s death, and she had absolutely nothing nice to say about the reality TV star.
The woman, who did not wish to be identified publicly, told the outlet that Turner contacted her just weeks after his wife, Toni Turner, died. Things turned serious quickly, and she even moved into his lake house. That’s when she says things got strange. She claims that Turner became mean and dismissive. In one wild moment, she said he refused to take her to his high school reunion because he claimed she had gained weight. They ultimately end the romance, with him kicking her out of the house with little notice.
