Taylor Swift’s fans don’t think she’s spending her time with the right people. Here’s why they’re disappointed with her behavior.
Taylor Swift’s recent trip to Nashville is not going over well with many of her fans. The singer supported her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Tight End University while in the city. Some fans have spoken out about some of the places and people Swift saw while in the Tennessee city. Swift spent time with former NFL players and podcasters Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, whose political beliefs do not align with many of her fans.
Taylor Swift’s fans are not happy with the people she spent time with in Nashville
While in Nashville, Swift, Kelce, Compton, and Lewan posed for a photo together, likely at the Tight End University training camp. Compton and Lewan host the podcast Bussin’ With the Boys and have spoken frequently in support of Donald Trump. Swift’s fans were appalled to see her with them.
“They interviewed Trump when he was running for president,” wrote one Reddit user, adding, “My expectations from Taylor weren’t high but cavorting around with MAGA influencers is such a low even for her.”
“Imagine being rich enough to make the world a slightly better place and being (inexplicably) embraced by communities of interesting, creative, empathetic people, then actively choosing to surround yourself with these thugs instead,” wrote another person. “What a waste.”
Many people took issue with the fact that Swift’s professed political beliefs do not align with Compton’s or Lewan’s. To them, it feels hypocritical for her to spend time with them.
“No surprise here,” wrote one person. “She’s always reeked of fakea*** feminist and fraudulent LGBTQ-ally. This is especially bad optics at a time where so many minorities are being negatively impacted by Trump and his MAGAts-empowering rethoric [sic].”
Others expressed disappointment that Swift spent time with Trump supporters. The president publicly spoke about his dislike for her during his campaign.
“The fact that she still associates with people who are MAGA when Trump himself has personally attacked her…. where the f*** is her self respect.”
At this time, Swift has not responded to the criticism from fans.
Taylor Swift also angered fans by going to a Nashville bar
During the same trip, Swift also frustrated many of her fans by going to Jason Aldean’s bar in Nashville. Aldean, whose song “Try That In a Small Town” drew a great deal of criticism, is also a vocal supporter of Trump.
“She got her billion, so I guess she thinks she can do whatever the f*** she wants,” wrote one person. “She endorsed Harris, but then does s*** like this. Living in a state of constant disappointment is not fun.”
The couple seemed unbothered while stepping out for dinner in Nashville
Swift and Kelce went to New York City after Nashville. The couple seemed unaffected by the backlash when they stepped out for a date night.
Per People, Swift wore a $3,490 pink and white houndstooth Balmain dress. The couple is reportedly enjoying spending more time together now that Swift has ended her tour, and Kelce is in the off-season.
