After a playful encounter with Jenna Bush Hager, where Tiffany Haddish was surprised by a video message from her crush, actor Toby Sandeman, the comedian decided to take another chance at romance on Today With Jenna & Friends.

During her latest appearance, Haddish set her sights on yet another heartthrob, expressing her interest in Giancarlo Stanton, the New York Yankees’ right fielder and designated hitter.

“I’m trying to connect with Giancarlo Stanton, number 27 from the Yankees,” Haddish boldly declared, sparking laughter from both Bush Hager and co-host Carson Daly.

Continuing with her humorous approach, Haddish quipped, “It seems his phone number has changed. My calls aren’t getting through.”

Bush Hager playfully reminded Haddish of a previous viral moment when she tricked the internet into believing she had a baby with Jason Lee, thanks to a shared photo. Daly, joining in on the fun, suggested Haddish might consider a similar strategy to catch Stanton’s attention.

“Why don’t you post a picture of a baby in a Yankees jersey that says number 27 and just leave it at that?” he asked.

“I feel like nobody’s gonna get that but if it’s me and Giancarlo Stanton standing next to together, and I’m holding my belly and I’m like, ‘Cat’s in the bag!’” Haddish responded.

It could work out. Haddish was spotted out with Sandeman after she declared him her celebrity crush. The pair even dressed up together for Halloween as Severance characters Mark and Helly.

However, Haddish denied that they are an item.

“He’s not ugly, I can tell you that much. I like beautiful friends,” she told Bush Hager, adding, “We’re just pals but you know how I work.”

But Bush Hager certainly put in a good word for Haddish. Sandeman surprised her with a video message when she guest hosted Today With Jenna & Friends in April.

“A little birdie told me that I’m your favorite character on Running Point,” he said. “Always did think you had great taste. I’m in Ireland right now, but I wanted you to know that I will be tuning in and rooting for you. Now before I go, let’s take care of a little business. I think we need to get you on Running Point to play my wife. What are your thoughts?”

Haddish leapt at the chance to join him on Running Point. “Yes, I do. I do, and I do!” she said. “We can play pretend and we can play for real. I just, oh my goodness. I think that was beautiful! I’m gonna call Kate Hudson and say, ‘Girl, he offered me a job!’ I think I need to get a ticket to Ireland. We’ve gotta do a chemistry test!”
