TikTokers use trending filter to find out their dating red flags: ‘How is it so accurate’

With TikTokers spreading their beige flags, a trait that is neither positive nor negative, some users are leaning towards negativity and finding out what red flags they have.

This process isn’t happening with a therapist or lots of self-reflection, rather a trending filter.

The filter was created by Laura Gouillon (@lauragouillon), who’s created other viral dating filters such as the “My Love Life Tarot.” While the tarot filter tries to predict your romantic future, the red flag filter informs people what’s keeping them from success with love.

Some of the options users can receive are as simple as sleeping with socks on, but others can hit a little closer to home — with people being told they complain too much, are impatient and are even emotionally unstable.

“How is it so accurate,” replied @i..sabell..a.

Over 2 million TikTokers have used this filter — adding onto the 8.3 billion views credited to the #redflags — to see what their issues are , and many of them haven’t been happy with what they’re finding out about themselves.

“The steady increase of disrespect,” replied @sheisbellejones.

While TikTokers were getting offended about their red flags, Gouillon wanted to spread some positivity, so she posted a video announcing a green flags filter.  The new version has the same concept as the red flags filter, except it tells TikTokers what they’re good traits are. Gouillon is currently crowdsourcing ideas from her comment section, and people are excited for the new project.

As TikTokers are willingly offering up their dating flags, there’s new ways for those who don’t know their flags to have the app tell them what they are.
