Lateasha Lunceford in a blue dress for the 'Married to Medicine' Season 11 reunion

Reality TV News

Lateasha ‘Sweet Tea’ Lunceford hinted that she was not asked to return for season 12 of Bravo’s ‘Married to Medicine.’

Married to Medicine Season 12 is coming to Bravo, the network announced on May 7. But one cast member won’t be back for the new episodes. Lateasha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford will not appear in the upcoming season of the reality show, she’s said.

Lateasha ‘Sweet Tea’ Lunceford says she’s not ‘a quitter’ as she confirms ‘Married to Medicine’ exit

Lateasha joined the Married to Medicine cast in season 10. She is married to Dr. Greg Lunceford, who is long-time star Quad Webb’s ex-husband. Unsurprisingly, there was no shortage of drama between Lateasha and Quad during the former’s time on the reality series.

Now, Lateasha has confirmed she’s left the “foul” show behind. In a YouTube live on May 8, she hinted that she wasn’t asked back for the upcoming season.

“I’m just gonna say, I haven’t really talked a lot about this but I really want to leave it to my fans to figure out what was going on,” she replied when someone commented that they were glad she was leaving Married to Medicine.

“Know that I’m not a quitter,” she continued. “I’ve never, ever been a quitter. And I ain’t never ran away from anybody. So just putting that out there. But it just is what it is and I think that things are – there are better things in store for me. You know, I think that platform was what it was for me at the moment. And I think that God has something better and I’m going down the right path. So that’s all. And just know I’ll never bow down to nobody. Can’t do that. Never will do that.”

‘Married to Medicine’ alum is moving on to ‘bigger and greater’ things

Lateasha shared some more thoughts about Married to Medicine on Instagram, saying that it was not a positive representation of people of color.

“It was pure [trash],” she replied to a fan on Instagram on May 8, using the trash bin emoji to express her feelings about the Bravo show. “Unfortunately this is what they think is good tv for people of color. We can’t worry about that anymore. We are on to bigger and greater.”

While Lateasha is leaving Married to Medicine, it doesn’t look like she’ll be stepping out of the spotlight entirely. One of her new projects is the YouTube series The Doctor’s Wives of Atlanta. It promises to be more positive and less combative than Married to Medicine.

“Real friendships. Real fun. Real fine,” reads a post from the group’s Instagram. “We’re just a group of educated, beautiful women who happen to be married to men with MD’s—and happen to love creating together.”

Married to Medicine is streaming on Peacock.
