Tom Brady, known for his legendary tenure with the New England Patriots, now steps into a new role as a broadcaster, leaving behind any sense of team loyalty.

During his illustrious career, Tom Brady became synonymous with the New England Patriots. The team took a significant risk drafting him in 2000, a decision that ultimately paid off as Brady led them to numerous NFL playoff appearances. However, since retiring from the gridiron, Brady has shed any allegiances to his former team. As the Patriots gear up for their first Super Bowl appearance since his departure, Brady has expressed indifference regarding their success.

Tom Brady isn’t rooting for the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl

After spending two decades with the Patriots, it might come as a surprise that Brady’s support doesn’t extend to his old team in the upcoming Super Bowl. In a recent episode of the Let’s Go! Podcast, Brady candidly revealed his lack of excitement about the Patriots’ current championship journey, leaving fans taken aback by his detachment.

When asked whether he was rooting for the Patriots this year, Brady refused to give a yes-or-no answer. Instead, he claimed he didn’t have a “dog in the fight” and was more interested in rooting on players he knew personally rather than a team. He went on to say he simply wanted to see good football, and wanted the best team to take hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of it all.

Does his stake in the Las Vegas Raiders influence his feelings?

While Tom Brady’s lack of enthusiasm for the New England Patriots playoff campaign might have shocked some fans, others are not the least bit surprised. While Brady’s parting with the Patriots wasn’t bitter, there didn’t seem to be a ton of emotion surrounding the decision. In short, he never seemed particularly attached to the team.

His broadcasting career might also influence his neutral take. Still, there could be a more obvious reason he is refusing to root for the Patriots. While Brady played for New England for most of his career, he is a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. While the team didn’t make it anywhere close to the playoffs this year, he could be tempering his enthusiasm in hopes of making big moves for his own team in the off-season. Only time will tell.
