Tom Holland reportedly received the blessing of Zendaya’s father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman months before proposing to the actress. 

TMZ reports Holland, 28, was keen to obtain Coleman’s proposal before dropping down to one knee. 

Holland, whom the outlet described as very traditional, put considerable weight into obtaining permission prior to the proposal and is said to have met with Coleman ‘months ago.’

Of course his future father-in-law gave his blessing.

Zendaya’s family is said to be incredibly excited with the couple’s engagement and upcoming marriage and think highly of the actor, with insiders saying they love the star and see him as a ‘class act.’

The question was popped ‘between Christmas and New Year’s,’ TMZ reported on Monday after she flashed a diamond engagement ring at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The actor got down on one knee ‘in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the United States,’ the site added.

It was also claimed that no family was around them as it was just the two of them when he asked the beauty to become Mrs Holland.

The proposal was also called ‘romantic and not over the top.’

News of the reported engagement comes after Zendaya sparked engagement rumors when she flashed a massive diamond ring on her wedding finger at the Golden Globes.

The superstar, who has been in a romance with Holland since 2021, seemed to have more to celebrate than just her acting nomination for Challengers at the star-studded event.

While her burnt tangerine Louis Vuitton gown and her new bob hairstyle certainly turned heads, it was the dazzling accessory on her left hand that had everyone talking – and it has been valued at $500,000.

A stunning solitaire diamond glistened on her finger, leaving fans wondering if Holland—who did not attend the event—had finally popped the question.

Tom previously shared the reason behind his desire for privacy, saying that his relationship with Zendaya is ‘the thing I keep most sacred.’

In a 2022 appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast, he explained, ‘My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible.’

He added, ‘We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from Hollywood as possible.’
