12 of the Most Searing Comments About Meghan Markle's New Netflix Show

Meghan Markle’s Netflix show is here, and with it, lots of criticism. Since With Love, Meghan premiered on March 4, 2025, negative reviews have been pouring in from audiences and critics alike. Ahead are just some of the searing comments about the Duchess of Sussex’s eight-episode lifestyle series.

Reviewers pan ‘With Love, Meghan’

With Love, Meghan’s not getting love from critics. Reviews from both U.S. and U.K. media outlets have largely panned the series. A Variety review described the show as “well-tailored and beige,” much like what Meghan wears throughout the series.

They also slammed Meghan for falling short of Martha Stewart and Ina Garten. “Meghan either lacks similar competence or feels constrained from sharing it, and so her insights, or the way she talks about them, can feel as canned as a limited-edition American Riviera Orchard preserve.”

Perhaps the most stinging comment from this particular review came at the end: “With Love, Meghan is made with a great deal of love—in the sense that the greatest love of all is the one that a person has for herself.”

The U.K.’s The Independent gave the show one star, calling it “queasy and exhausting,” noting that “visiting the Sussexes might not be a fun experience,” per Forbes.

Even The Guardian (U.K.) columnist Marina Hyde’s attempt at a more forgiving way to describe With Love, Meghan came out searing. “The mildest way to describe this show is as a ghastly artifact of a particular cultural era that recently met its apocalypse,” she wrote.

The Times, a British newspaper, praised Meghan’s talents for creatively presenting dishes. But that’s about all the positive remarks from the outlet’s two-star review. Elsewhere, the publication slammed With Love, Meghan for “desperate upbeatness.” Additionally, she received criticism for “presenting her extreme wealth and mind-bogglingly exclusive lifestyle as if it is available to anyone.”

Not all of the reviews ripped With Love, Meghan to shreds. Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue peppered their reviews with some positive comments. Namely, on Meghan returning to her “roots” and the show’s “balance” between “friendly lifestyle voyeurism” and “true service content.”

Negative reviews of With Love, Meghan aren’t limited to the TV critics. Much of the chatter online about Meghan’s Netflix show has been less than glowing. In one viral post, an X user slammed Meghan for taking Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter Pretzel Nuggets out of their original packaging only to put them in a bag she labeled herself.

“I’m so glad Meghan Markle has a new show on Netflix where I can watch her take pretzels out of a labeled bag and put them into a new bag…then label it,” they wrote, per Daily Mail, calling her “The people’s Martha Stewart.”

Another person shared on X that they “bailed” after watching “the first 15 minutes” of With Love, Meghan, calling it “empty, vein, fake” and “vomit inducing,” per the New York Post. Someone else labeled it “boring” on X, commenting that “The desperation is palpable,” before adding, “I am not a Meghan fan but it’s sad.”

Another person slammed the show for being a “waste” of the streamer’s money. “‘With Love, Meghan’ is a masterclass in how to waste Netflix money. What do we get? Her pretending to be relatable, and trades banalities with B-list guests like Mindy Kaling. This isn’t a lifestyle show, it’s a 40 minute infomercial for her ego!”

Expert says Meghan’s Netflix show ‘reinforces her as the Duchess of Flops and Ratings Disasters’

Speaking to Newsweek, Eric Schiffer, chair of Reputation Management Consultants, shared that With Love, Meghan probably won’t turn the tide on Meghan’s reputation. “The show is not a recipe to rebuild her reputation,” he said. “In fact, it reinforces her as the Duchess of Flops and Ratings Disasters.”

“I don’t think this builds her back or expands her audience in a meaningful way at all,” Schiffer added. “To me, this is not the project for her to start a masterclass in cringe cooking. For her to think she’s going to somehow recast herself as a modern day Martha Stewart screams ‘out of touch elite desperation.’”

Despite all of the criticism, Meghan’s Netflix show is currently in the streamer’s Top 10 list. Whether or not it will stay there, only time will tell.
