Jonathan Feltre stars as Mady, a graduate student juggling his studies with a side job as a locksmith in Brussels. His seemingly ordinary life takes a dramatic turn when he is deceived by a captivating woman named Claire, played by Natacha Krief. Claire convinces Mady to unlock an empty apartment under the guise of retrieving a bag, only to vanish with it. The twist? The bag belongs to mob boss Yannick, portrayed by Romain Duris, and is stuffed with cash. Yannick, convinced that Mady is part of Claire’s scheme, is hot on his trail.

Desperate to clear his name, Mady races against time to track down Claire and return the money to Yannick. However, the challenge intensifies as Brussels is in the midst of a lockdown due to a volatile Black Lives Matter protest. To complicate matters, Theo, one of Yannick’s men played by Jonas Bloquet, is secretly involved with Claire. For Mady, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and he must navigate a perilous night that could be his last if things go awry.

Night Call is a gripping action-thriller that deftly incorporates the Black Lives Matter movement into its compelling storyline. Mady’s identity as a Black man adds layers to the intense narrative, as it affects his ability to navigate the city under the protest’s tense atmosphere. The film is packed with unexpected twists that enhance rather than detract from the plot’s integrity. Heralded as one of 2025’s hidden cinematic gems, Night Call is now streaming on Hulu and is a must-watch for thriller enthusiasts.
