Renowned rapper Megan Thee Stallion has filed a lawsuit against a YouTube personality, with the legal spotlight also shining on Tory Lanez for his courtroom misconduct. Lanez found himself in hot water recently when he was fined for contempt of court, adding a hefty sum to Megan’s legal team’s earnings. The root of the issue lies in Megan’s decision to take legal action against blogger Milagro Gramz, accusing her of defaming Megan following her testimony in the case against Lanez. Despite numerous attempts, Lanez has consistently resisted deposition efforts, leading to significant legal repercussions for him and his defense team.

Back in 2022, Megan Thee Stallion took the stand against Lanez regarding the 2020 incident where she was shot. Allegations have surfaced that Milagro Gramz, whose real name is Milagro Cooper, served as a “paid surrogate” for Lanez, disseminating harmful and false narratives about Megan. According to Rolling Stone, Megan’s lawsuit targets Cooper with charges of defamation, causing emotional distress intentionally, and distributing a manipulated sexual representation.

Tory Lanez was recently held in contempt of court, and Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers are getting richer because of it. Megan is suing YouTube blogger Milagro Gramz for allegedly discrediting and defaming her after she testified against Lanez. Megan’s lawyers repeatedly tried to depose Lanez, but he refused to cooperate. This has landed him and his legal team in trouble.

In 2022, Megan testified against Lanez in a trial over her 2020 shooting. Milagro Gramz, whose legal name is Milagro Cooper, allegedly acted as Lanez’s “paid surrogate” to spread “vicious and hateful rumors” about Megan (via Rolling Stone). Megan’s claims against Cooper include defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and the promotion of an altered sexual depiction.

Cooper allegedly liked a fake, sexually-explicit video of Megan on X (formerly Twitter), then posted “Go to my likes.” Megan’s team argues that this encouraged Cooper’s followers to see and circulate the fake video.

Tory Lanez owes Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers money

Lanez has to give a jailhouse deposition in the trial, but he refused to answer questions from Megan’s lawyers. Lanez was uncooperative and reportedly disruptive during a recent meeting.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid wrote that Lanez “stormed out of the room” and told Megan’s lawyer to “calm down.” He also declined to answer questions about Cooper. When he was informed that he would receive a fine if he didn’t answer, he said he didn’t care.

“Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them,” he allegedly said. “I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”

As a result, Lanez must now pay Megan’s lawyers $20,000 “as a fine for his obstruction of Plaintiff’s multiple attempts to depose him.” The court also held his lawyer, Crystal Morgan, in contempt.

He is currently serving out a 10-year prison sentence

Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan in 2020 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. His trial was divisive, with a number of celebrities, such as Drake, coming out in support of him. After another inmate stabbed Lanez in prison, some people began pushing for his pardon.

“At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY !? At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying ?” Megan asked in a statement (per Pitchfork). “Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY??”

People have accused her of lying about Lanez shooting her, which Megan finds hurtful and insulting.

“How yall mad at the person that got shot ????” she wrote. “FACTS ARE FACTS , he did it , it was PROVEN IN COURT f*** the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new f***ing evidence yall been saying the same s*** for years TORY PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE you a f***ing demon. I’m off this silly a** internet s***, BYE.”

A California appellate court recently denied Lanez’s appeal to overturn his conviction.
