In her 34 years, she became a beacon of inspiration, profoundly affecting all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lacelle was candid about her battle with cancer, documenting her journey publicly after disclosing her diagnosis of a rare form of ovarian cancer in May 2025, as reported by People. Throughout the summer of that year, she shared her experiences with chemotherapy, offering updates until her final post on January 4th.

Lacelle was open about her cancer journey on social media after announcing in May 2025 that she was diagnosed with a rare type of ovarian cancer, per People. She opened up about her experiences undergoing chemotherapy throughout the summer of 2025 before sharing one final update on Jan. 4.

Lacelle became emotional in the video update as she shared that they learned the cancer had metastasized to her other organs. “There was just cancer everywhere,” she said through tears. “This has been the most painful, worst two weeks of my life. I can’t believe how much pain I’ve been in.”

In the caption, she explained how much the cancer had spread. “My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum,” she shared. “This has been causing significant pain and nausea. Some days are better than others but there hasn’t been a pain free day for me since mid November.”

She shared she would be in the hospital for “the foreseeable future” while undergoing another cycle of chemotherapy.

“I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know I see and feel all of your messages, prayers, and well wishes daily. Due to the side effects of chemo and pain management I am often unable to respond but please know how much I appreciate your love,” she said.

Lacelle added, “I also need to give a big shoutout to my army of people who have dropped everything to either physically be here day in day out, or support me behind the scenes in the most selfless ways. I have no words but my gratitude is endless.”
