Pour it out for Sweet Magnolias. Netflix has finally dropped a trailer for season 4 of the small-town drama, and it looks like Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue are in for some major tumult. 

The teaser promises thunderclouds both personal and meteorological for the trio of BFFs. But even when times are tough, the Magnolias know they can count on each other to make it through. 

“All the storms we’ve weathered,” Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) says to Helen (Heather Headley) and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott). “We’ll weather this one too, no matter how hard it hits.”

Celebrate the holidays in Serenity in ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 4 

Sweet Magnolias Season 4, which premieres Feb. 6, follows Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue as they continue to manage the ups and downs of life in Serenity.

“While negotiating the twists and turns of their romantic lives, Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen must also navigate the return of old foes, the loss of great loves, and the painful transition from old dreams to new ones,” reads Netflix’s synopsis of the new season. “As the men in their lives pursue their own goals and their teenagers take uneasy steps toward adulthood, the Magnolias support each other with creative problem-solving, deep-hearted commitment, and — as always — weekly margaritas.”

The upcoming episodes will also feature the ladies celebrating the holidays – a first for the show. The teaser shows a glimpse of a Halloween party at the spa, as well as the three friends posing for what looks to be a group Christmas photo. It ends with Helen giving a toast to the new year. 

“Whatever the new year may bring,” she says, “No matter how far from each other we may be, the three of us will always be strength.” 

Is a wedding on the horizon for Maddie and Cal?

Sweet Magnolias Season 3 ended with Dana Sue and Ronnie’s (Brandon Quinn) touching vow renewal. Could there be another public declaration of love in season 4? After her celebration, Dana Sue is ready to plan someone else’s big day, she says, looking at Maddie. 

“Feel free to plan a wedding,” Maddie replies. “Just not mine.”

Maddie says she’s not looking to get hitched, but she and Cal (Justin Bruening) are still very much an item. “I’m not going anywhere,” he assures her after she worries about losing those she loves. 

And what about Helen and Erik (Dion Johnstone)? The two – who seemed on the verge of rekindling their romance in the season 3 finale – look pretty cozy in the season 4 trailer. Perhaps they could be the next Serenity couple to walk down the aisle. 

Meanwhile, the residents of Serenity must come together when the town is hit by a natural disaster. And Maddie is struggling with some big regrets.   

“So much seems out of control, I just…” she says. But her besties are there to provide support.  

“We’re best friends,” Helen assures her. “Friends carry each other, and each other’s burdens.” 

Sweet Magnolias Season 4 premieres Thursday, Feb 6 on Netflix.
