President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning regarding potential military intervention against Iran’s energy facilities if the Strait of Hormuz isn’t reopened for navigation within 48 hours.
This ultimatum signifies a significant intensification in the current conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran, now in its fourth week. The Strait of Hormuz, a pivotal channel for global oil transportation, has been severely affected after Iran’s declaration to block passage for what it termed “enemy ships.” This blockade has led to a spike in oil prices and unsettled global financial markets.
While Trump did not disclose specific targets within Iran’s power infrastructure, he stressed the immediate need to restore traffic through this crucial maritime corridor.
“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST…” Trump stated emphatically.

In response, Iranian military officials warned that any attack on their energy infrastructure would be met with strikes on US-linked facilities across the region.
The latest developments come shortly after Trump signaled a possible de-escalation, stating that the US was close to achieving its objectives and considering winding down military operations.
However, the renewed threat suggests tensions remain high, with both sides maintaining aggressive postures.
