The reality TV couple is currently embroiled in a texting scandal, and leaked messages, if proven to be legitimate, indicate that Catelynn and Tyler have been lying all along.

Tyler and Catelynn insisted they would ‘respect’ Carly’s decision

Catelynn and Tyler’s Teen Mom storyline has always revolved around their decision to place their first child for adoption. Even after they welcomed children that they opted to raise, the conversation always circles back to Carly. In more recent years, the commentary has grown far more negative, with both expressing anger towards Carly’s adoptive parents.

After Carly’s adoptive parents asked Catelynn and Tyler to stop contacting them, the reality TV couple unraveled. For months, they’ve shared anti-adoption information on social media. To MTV cameras, they’ve long insisted they were only continuing to talk about their situation because they feared Carly’s parents were preventing contact that their biological child, now 15, wants. More recently, they claim they acted out of fear. Tyler once suggested, however, that he would back off if he knew that Carly was the one who wanted to cut contact.

Unconfirmed texts suggest Carly blocked her biological parents

Tyler and Catelynn insisted they would respect Carly’s wishes if she were the one who wanted to cease contact. Based on the unverified messages, they actually got their answer and didn’t respect her wishes. In a series of unconfirmed texts the couple allegedly sent to at least one minor, Tyler allegedly acknowledges that he and his wife sent friend requests to their biological daughter as well as messages that went unanswered. A person claiming to be friends with the teen confirms that Carly had blocked the duo on social media. In the exchange, Tyler acknowledges that the teen has blocked them. The alleged friend mentioned, repeatedly, that Carly didn’t want contact. The still-unverified messages have been posted to TikTok and, later, a Reddit community.

The exchange seems to indicate that their biological child, much like her adoptive parents, doesn’t wish to communicate with Tyler and Catelynn at this time. The reason for the teen’s decision has not been explicitly mentioned. Still, Teen Mom fans have theorized that Carly has taken a step back because of the way Catelynn and Tyler have spoken about her adoptive parents.

Tyler and Catelynn have not verified the authenticity of all messages. They have, however, admitted to speaking with someone they believed to be a friend of Carly’s. The couple did not deny reaching out to people they thought were connected to the teen.
