For fans of The View, it might seem like déjà vu as the popular ABC talk show continues to air repeats.
Viewers have not seen a new episode since April 2, with the network opting to rebroadcast episodes originally aired in March during its regular slot.
This period of reruns included episodes with guest hosts stepping in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is on maternity leave. Notably, today’s episode, which first aired on March 17, featured Carly Fiorina as the guest co-host and a special appearance by Sarah Michelle Gellar promoting Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
But there’s good news for the audience eagerly awaiting fresh content. The streak of reruns is nearing its end. Curious about the reasons behind this week’s reruns and when to expect new episodes? Here’s what we know.
Why is The View showing reruns this week?
According to Entertainment Weekly, The View is currently on a scheduled break. It’s a common practice for shows to pause around spring holidays like Easter. For instance, Live with Kelly and Mark also recently took a two-week spring hiatus.
Tomorrow’s episode will also be a rerun of the episode that originally aired on March 24, featuring guest co-host Abby Huntsman and an appearance from American Idol judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood. Meanwhile Friday’s episode will be a repeat from March 10, this time, with guest co-host Sheryl Underwood.
When does The View return with new episodes?
The View is set to return with a new episode on Monday, April 13, marking the end of Griffin’s maternity leave, as well.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
